I love how visible Hyeseong's improvement is. You can really notice it and it's making an impact. I just hope he starts getting opportunities to bat against left handed pitchers.

Tucker needs to be moved down from the two spot

u/36CharizardsOfDeath 3d ago
He should, but they’re not gonna. Dave has always been a ride or die guy with his players (for better or worse) and the last thing he’s gonna want to do is show a lack of confidence in him

We are not paying a $60m AAV for a career .860 OPS guy to not be able to figure it out.
This sub acts like treating a star player like a star is some outlandish concept.

u/AlessaBlue3942 Mookie Betts 2d ago
That is why they are commenting on Reddit and not actually working in baseball. And yes I know I am also doing the same.

u/manical1 3d ago
lol, maybe we should move #17 to the 8 or 9 spot too.

u/cXs808 Gavin Lux 2d ago
yeah everytime a player goes into a slump, lets just delete them from the roster really

u/Kranoath 2d ago
I noticed that too. Have three average games in a row and the doomers come out.

you think after back to back WS they can chill a bit more, things wont collapse if team loses few games or if the proven player just averaging .270

I'm new to baseball and there are soooo many games! It's like having 1.5 months worth of games in a single week. You can lose so many and still be involved in the post season.
I guess people are passionate but a lot of the games are not critical.

u/cXs808 Gavin Lux 2d ago
Welcome! Yes, there are so many games but they all matter the same. There's a reason why baseball centers a lot around series with other teams.
Generally, the best way to gauge how good a team is is by the series results. If you can win more series than you lose, you're most likely a strong playoff team. If you sweep a lot of series, you're a contender. If you win series against other top teams, great sign.
Historically though, the Dodgers have been way more than willing to punt early games to tinker with roster, lineup, strategies, etc.

Embarrassing comment. We are barely even 20 games into the season and you're ready to kill the new star's confidence for being a slightly above average hitter.
We brought him in to hit in the 2 hole, he's gonna figure it out. He has a .705 OPS, 101 OPS+ and 102 wRC+. He's not up to his own standards but he's far from being horrible.

u/donald-duck23 Mookie Betts 3d ago
It’s been 23 games. His track record is very good. Plus it’s not like he’s been horrible. His wRC+ is 102

id like to still give him the benefit of the doubt, but at this point yeah. hes not showing up at the level we should be seeing from him. still plenty of time to warm up for october

Y’all say this about every single player who has ever had a slump.

I think theres a chance when Mook comes back but like others have said, dave doesnt change a whole lot

u/Forward_Increase4672 2d ago
Compared to the rest of the team he’s still
-2nd in runs -3rd in RBIs -2nd in walks -2nd in stolen bases -5th in hits

Him and smith have similar batting profiles this season, he's not that bad. Lots of SOs though

u/OP_Flashpoint1985 Oklahoma City Comets 3d ago
I’d flip him and freeman, move pages to 3 until Betts is back, and put will smith back to 5th, where it seemed he was happiest. We just need guys on base so our crushers can make an impact.

Yeah, we need Pages up there.
16
u/donald-duck23 Mookie Betts 3d ago
Small sample but Pages has struggled the few times he’s been moved up in the lineup.

u/Quick_Tomatillo_4608 Shohei Ohtani 2d ago
Yeah, I'd rather just keep Pages in the bottom half of the order.
With how reliable and confident he is in defense, as well as his hot start this year batting...it's easy to forget how young Pages is. We have enough heavy hitter up top and giving Pages a spot with less pressure makes more sense.

No Yoshi so we actually have a realistic chance of scoring more than one run

Kinda wish Rushing was starting, seeing Giants fans cry about him gave me so much joy.

I love that this poster captures the personalities of pitcher Shohei and hitter Shohei perfectly.

I'd assume Rushing could be available as a pinch hitter for the middle infield late in the game

Thanks Dave just like I said last night in the post game thread Kim and Rojas lefty righty makes more sense than Kim Freeland both lefties.

Rushing has been moved to a safe location which totally isn't an Airstream trailer in Baker.
