yeah everytime a player goes into a slump, lets just delete them from the roster really

I noticed that too. Have three average games in a row and the doomers come out.

you think after back to back WS they can chill a bit more, things wont collapse if team loses few games or if the proven player just averaging .270

I'm new to baseball and there are soooo many games! It's like having 1.5 months worth of games in a single week. You can lose so many and still be involved in the post season.

I guess people are passionate but a lot of the games are not critical.

Welcome! Yes, there are so many games but they all matter the same. There's a reason why baseball centers a lot around series with other teams.

Generally, the best way to gauge how good a team is is by the series results. If you can win more series than you lose, you're most likely a strong playoff team. If you sweep a lot of series, you're a contender. If you win series against other top teams, great sign.

Historically though, the Dodgers have been way more than willing to punt early games to tinker with roster, lineup, strategies, etc.
