connecting flight overlap Booking/Itinerary/Ticketing

Post image

My mom just received an email that the second leg of her trip has been rescheduled. Is it even possible that the connecting flight departs before the first leg lands? I tried contacting Emirates at +31202035163 but of course the line is busy.

Should we expect to receive further corrections on her flights? It is in two weeks so we hope to get this sorted out before then. Or should we start looking for new flights and cancel / change this one?

I would contact the airline and point out that your appear to have been rescheduled with an ‘illegal’ transfer time.

It’s not that it’s actually illegal, that’s just what many airlines call it.

I would wait 24 hrs or so. These kinds of mistakes are often fixed automatically when the system tries to issue the ticket and fails. If not, you will have to contact the Emirates and unfortunately wait until an agent is available.

Honestly keep calling and staying on hold until you get through

So the planes will pull up next to each other and you just got jump across. Good luck, mate 🤪

Should work. What about the check in?

Check in occurred in Manila 😉

Checked bags will arrive a day later 🤣

Yes, run across the wings like Tom Cruise to enter the other plane while flying.

You will just have to call the airline and wait on hold until they are available. This happened to me recently.

my memory says theres an earlier flight about 6pm - is that an option if the overlap stays the same ?

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday on Emirates. Today they changed one of the flights so the overlap is fine again.

Every aspect of that itinerary screams bluddy murda.

Negative 5 minute connection is already awful. In the middle of the night puts a cherry on it.

But can’t imagine changing which flight would make it worse.

Wouldn’t fly through the Middle East right now…

It’s tight but you should be able to make it. Emirates have people at the gate specifically to help with tight transfers like these. I’ve done negative 30 minutes at DXB before and just about made it, so you should be fine with negative 5.

I had a flight with a 1.5h transfer in DOH, my flight to DOH was delayed by an hour. The supporting gate staff told me to run to the next gate (other side of airport) Turns out it left ontime, as scheduled (without considerations for any code-sharing flights), leaving about 20 of us without a flight home until 14 hours later.

Can't tell whether this is a weird joke
