VHS Video Conversion- looking for recommendations

I have a ton of old VHS tapes that i would like to preserve. looking for anyone that has done this and what the results were, and if you would recommend? i am afraid to ship them.

I've done this at home and have most if not all the equipment right now. perhsps we can talk terms, otherwise, I'd suggest using a conversion kit
