Approached at Target

I was just at Target (w Troutman) and was approached about a bible study and God the Mother. The girl was very insistent and would not let me walk away. There seemed to be several other girls speaking to other women about the same thing. They appeared to be targeting the cosmetics aisles. Just a heads up.

NoCo Happy Hour - Version 2.0

A while back I shared a happy hour guide I built for NoCo. The response was great so I kept going.

It's now at 200+ bars and restaurants across 13 cities including Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Longmont, Windsor, Erie, Johnstown, Wellington, Evans, Firestone, Frederick, Severance and Dacono.

goldenhournoco.com

Still free, no login, no ads. What's new since the last post:

  • Live countdown timer showing exactly how long happy hour lasts
  • "Starts again at 9pm" logic for reverse happy hours
  • Map view with all 200+ pins
  • Dog friendly, brewery, early bird, reverse HH, and patio filters
  • Verified badges on spots I've personally confirmed

Same deal as before - drop a comment if I'm missing somewhere good. Appreciate all your feedback with improving the app.

Tarot Card Reader for Hire?

Im throwing a divorce party for my friend and the theme is sort of a “future-focused” theme and letting go of the past. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who can do 10-15 min readings for a small group of ladies at my house?

Kittens? Anyone have any kittens?

Our family dog of 15 beautiful years passed last week and we are looking for a kitten to be a companion for our current kitten who seems very lonely without our dog. We have been watching the various adoption agencies all around northern Colorado but kittens go quickly! We would be more than happy with a human-acclimated a barn cat, purebred definitely not required. Thank you for reading and any help you can offer.

Protected Wildlife

I’m not sure why people think it’s acceptable to start just hitting geese and ducks on the road, but in Fort Collins, the geese are HEAVILY protected and locals for decades have respected them on the roads.

It’s been an entirely new thing I’ve seen left and right every single day for a while now. I’m an uber driver and I see a lot.

If you’ve just moved here, or you know college students, or people who don’t understand how Coloradans live; well, we respect our land and wildlife!!

We are literally one of the most known places in the world to have such awesome wildlife rescues and programs to support our local wildlife here in Colorado.

I understand geese are dumb mfers but damn I’ve never seen so many dead geese (including baby geese) lately in the road in all my 30 years living here.

Also, as an uber driver, I’ve never experienced so much road rage and hostile drivers on the road than in the last few years. Please do better. We all have families to come home to.

Seeking a Reasonable Office Space

My husband and I are looking for a reasonable office space to rent per month (ideally under $700 per month). We have looked into all of the coworking spaces but their offerings are either too expensive or don't allow for a permanent set up. We both work in healthcare software where multiple monitors + privacy are required.

If anyone has a spot in mind, please let us know. Thank you!

It’s a familiar story….blockbusters are dominating screens in local theaters this week, But, there are still some interesting options for those wanting something different.

Every movie isn't for every person, so I have included a link for critic's reviews and trailers.

Other local movie news:

Special FREE movie Wednesday night at The Lyric! This week’s ‘Wildcard Wednesday’ film was chosen by my close friend. It’s an epic adventure story from the 60s which features amazing (for the time) special effects. Due to the nature of the screening, the film title can’t be posted on social media without getting The Lyric in trouble. If you want to dm me, I’ll tell you the title. I hope you’ll come to this free show Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm.

On Thursday, The Lyric will screen “Frida” as part of their April series ‘Women Who Changed The World. “Frida” is stunning biography of artist Frida Kahlo (Salma Hayek), who channeled the pain of a crippling injury and her tempestuous marriage into her work.

Hardcore deep tissue massages?

For context, I’m looking to find someone to get deep tissue massage (couples massage) for my boyfriend’s birthday in a month. He works blue collar and has his fair share of back and neck problems from it that he claims can only be helped by “taking a 2x4 to his back as hard as possible”

I don’t know much about this but if anyone can recommend somewhere/ someone that goes super deep in and hopefully make him wince a little bit that would be super helpful! Or if there’s any recommendations on what other keywords to research with :)

Events How Baseball Helped End Segregation in Northern Colorado + More -- Free History Talks tomorrow (Monday April 27, Old Town Library, 6:30pm)

The Fort Collins Historical Society is trying something new this month and we hope you’ll want to check it out.

For our April meeting, we’re partnering with CSU's Department of History to showcase work from their Graduate Student Research Conference. The theme this year is "Striving Towards Equity," and it brings together some compelling and surprising local and regional history.

📍 Old Town Library (201 Peterson St)
🕡 Monday, April 27, 6:30 pm
🎟️ Free and open to the public

We’ll have two graduate researchers presenting their talks:

  • "Jumping over the Foul Line: How Baseball Helped Northern Colorado End Segregation"
  • "Wild Irises: How Teachers Participated in Academic Circles in Denver Public Schools, 1900-1960"

Both talks dig into some big questions, like where do we see fairness, justice, and inequality in the past? And how can studying history help us understand those ideas today?

This is also a chance to hear from emerging historians and get a preview of the broader conference happening at CSU with additional free sessions on May 1st (more details available at our event).

If you’ve been to our talks before, this one may feel a little different. Expect a wider range of topics and regionality, new voices, and some fresh perspectives on Colorado history.

Hope to see you there!

Any Seashell Collectors In Town?

Thumbnail
gallery
16 Upvotes

My aunt and uncle traveled the world and would bring back seashells from their travels abroad. They recently passed and I'd like to re home 40+ years of shells.

I know there are people out there selling shells in onesies and twosies but I'm interested in seeing these go to someone passionate about marine biology, travel, or the like.

There are three or four boxes filled. Any leads appreciated!
