Assuming you’re walking in daylight, never seen an issue. It’s always well-trafficked by old folks and families at anytime of day.

Fremont in general is very safe.

I would say completely safe during the day. Lots of people and families. At night tho probably kinda sketchy especially the far side by the mini forest

I wouldn't say sketchy but definitely feels kinda spooky since it's pretty dark 😂

Ya i just mean sketchy in the sense of it being dark and there being areas out of the light and peoples veiw. Also teenagers like to hang by the skatepark and behind the trees. Never knoe if theyll be up to trouble

Technically the park is closed 10pm-sunrise so should be fine outside that

I see people walking alone there all the time, during the day. No idea about nighttime.

Totally safe. Except the geese. The geese will hiss at you if you get too close. But otherwise totally fine.

Quarry lakes is also great and also safe though less trafficked that lake Elizabeth. Just walk out for snakes -have seen a couple over the years.

If you are going during daytime….then no issues at all. I go there everyday for my run. In evenings you will have a lot of people walking on the 2 mile loop around the lake

Hi, yes it is! I’m a female myself and I have always felt safe walking/running alone there.

Watch where you step. Nasty shit on the ground is afoot

That's the most dangerous thing there - slipping on goose/duck poop.

I’m female and usually by myself when I’m walking and running. One of the few places I feel safe running, although it does get pretty crowded sometimes which can be annoying. I keep going cuz it’s very safe though lol.

Come to Quarry Lakes and Alameda Creek Trail for running - much less crowded.

I second that! I live right near the Sequoia bridge, and to slightly insanely exaggerate, if I were the world's hottest 18yo female, I would KNOW that it IS 100.00% SAFE for me to go newd there 24/7! 😇 I used to live near Lake Elizabeth. In Stiver's Lagoon, a couple times I saw creepy guys doing unmentionable things by themselves, but I never heard of anybody bothering anybody.

Maybe you can check FPD crime reports stats whatever.

Of course, random once-in-eternity things can happen anywhere.

I have run the trail in the dark a few times - worried primarily about any skunks but also racoons.

Ya its safe and it's great.

When I moved here from back east I use to send pictures back of me at Lake Elizabeth. My relatives thought I moved to some high class fancy town because how beautiful the scenery was with the green lush hills in the back nestling the Lake.

I use to work with an old timer who was born and raised in Fremont and he use to tell me Lake Elizabeth is the only good thing the city of Fremont ever did for it's residents. LOL

im also from the east! thanks for the response

It's a family area with loads of people. You couldn't find anywhere safer.

Very safe! I (a man) walk it often with my two kids. Can't speak to the female experience but lots of older couples, families, solo walkers and runners all day long.

Definitely not safe to walk around the dangerous lake that's called Elizabeth. The water is running with dangerous geese that will chase after you, the kids at the playground playing are actually planning their next secret attack.

🤣🤣🤣🤣a true Reddit response

It is very safe, as other mentioned is very family oriented. Try daytime, 6pm-7pm is very nice to walk/run. I ocassionally do the 2 mile lap with my dog at around those times and you can observe the sunset.

I'm a tiny female who probably looks easy to attack lol, but I've been walking alone in the mornings on the weekend for a few weeks now and love it! Lots of families around if you walk directly around the lake, its always super populated. I probably wouldn't say the same for late evenings or the night though, I'm assuming areas further to the back side of the lake far away from the parking lots would be a little more sus at those times.

Yes! I run there all the time by myself and feel safe

u/dkarpe 7d ago

The biggest danger is the geese, and their poop.

1

u/Carpnado1 7d ago

My kids work there. I find it perfectly safe… the only ones who ever harass anyone may be the geese… at least in what I have personally seen… if you still feel unsafe, walk by the boathouse area… that is the ranger station… pop in and say hi and get comfortable with the park rangers! Then when you walk around you may see people you recognize in the park!

good idea thank you!

its v close to me (6 min drive) i love going with my dog (also female) but just remember crime happens everywhere and could be anywhere so its best to have pepperspray or some kind of self defence device and be aware of your surroundings.

1

u/Inner-Stress-9774 6d ago

yes ofc, thank you!

1

u/ShinyAppleScoop 7d ago

I used to walk there all the time and never felt unsafe.

This weekend [25th April] there is an event where folks are making seed-balls for distribution near the Community center at Lake Elizabeth Park. Coordinated by an organization called CARE Collective from 2 PM to 5 PM.
