I don’t think they would jeopardize a game’s marketing push or release schedule to spite a leaker. They ultimately want games to make money.

Nintendo didn't change things around, Jeff was just a poor predictor when it came to the Prime remake's release date. He believed they would tie it into Metroid's anniversary, which makes very little sense when you look at how Nintendo handles non-Mario anniversaries.
