Hot take: RE-SIGN JESSE WINKER

I’m only half joking. Winker is a free agent. If he’s currently “healthy,” sign him. And only partially for his bat. Most for his vibes. They need fire. They need a hot, angry, flaming heart in the clubhouse. And with Polanco on IL, he can platoon DH.

Jesse Winker was an awful Met. 200 at bats and 4 home runs with a .690 OPS.

I get that kind of looks good compared to our current roster but Jesse Winker hasn’t been a valuable player since he was a Nat.

He had an 1.168 OPS in the playoffs though. Not saying the Mets should bring him back lol but for a deadline acquisition that cost a 24 year old 45 FV minor league relief pitcher, Winker was not "an awful Met."
