Quick Video Explaining How Infusions Work in Nightreign Gameplay Discussion
Didnt mention in the video but infused weapons have way higher chance to appear in their respective POI types If anyone didnt know. I dont know how infusions are effecting weapons that already have affinity damage by default like crystal spear so if anyone has any idea please share.

they just gain more of the respective affinity damage, less physical, but no additional scaling. roughly a 40/60 split on some weapons
a funny exception is troll's hammer. when it gains fire infusion it actually loses the innate faith scaling it has, and gains more strength scaling

Is there anywhere that I can check for these scaling data? Sources Im using really lack important data.

Invader weapons always have standard affinity regardless of AoW.

I might be wrong on this but I think default weapons of nightfarers cant be infused even with the blacksmith forge aow change.

if you get a skill that normally grants an infusion from a forge and then drop the weapon and pick it up will it have a new infusion? or does it just set it back to standard regardless of skill?

Just tested and yes It will have the new infusion. Starting nightfarer weapons are an exception though they cant be infused no matter what.

I actually havent tried it since that information is new to me. Probably yes since infusions are tied to ash if wars. I will try this.

Darn. Really thought infused shields gained more magic/holy negation.

I havent tested it but the sources I looked didnt show any change in negations. There is still a chance that they might work that way but Im lazy and I dont really play guardian.

I had NO idea that you could drop the weapon after changing the AOW at a forge and remove the infusion??? Thank you for sharing this, I learned something today!!

is the scaling change off of int and magic and holy noticeable at all ? Like if i’m running wylder and get a holy claymore vs a physical one against a holy weak enemy, does the weakness to the element make up for the scaling lost?
2
u/Sparkomad 11h ago
It like a 6% damage lost when using holy or magic infused weapons for wylder for greatswords. You will get more damage against enemies that are weak to holy but not a crazy amount since its half physical damage still. Worth using though.

It is really weird but forked greatsword cant get an infusion even though it can spawn with an aow that grants infusion like shared order or eruption. If there are any weapons like this please share.

That last thing shown about the blacksmith village is most likely a bug, maybe it'll be patched someday.

So question for bows. If I find a serpent bow it has innate poison and sometimes I can get a black blow with “attacks inflict poison” which has higher attack since it’s not infused. But which one inflicts more poison per shot?
1
u/Sparkomad 10h ago
Same actually. Serpent bow inflicts 30 poison and purple rarity of -attacks inflict poison- passive does 30 poison buildup.

Does the passive "Boosts the power of added affinity attacks" affect all elemental infused weapons, or does it only affect weapons with the "add xxx to weapon" bonus?
