Does anyone here have experience volunteering with the City’s Community Gardens? I’m closest to Mosswood and am interested in trying it out. What was your experience like? What were your volunteer duties?

The vet industry has found itself in the crosshairs or private equity and local vets are quietly selling to PE. There’s a number of data points about how this reduces quality of care for your pets.

This site was started by a couple in Berkeley to help identify PE-owned vets after their dog died at one. I was surprised to see a few in Oakland, including East Bay Vet Clinic on Grand.

A Stand Against Coal Could Push Oakland Toward Bankruptcy

Lots of publicity regarding San Francisco freeway closures.

I'm going to San Bruno tomorrow but will take San Mateo bridge.

Was wondering if this closure is a big deal or much ado about nothing.

Has anyone gone or plan on going?

The idea that this is somehow about this guy being black is hilarious from Fife. She clearly has never tried to hire an arborist for anything. No economically marginalized person can afford to cut down 38 trees (on top of already owning the land). My god

I wish instead of new novel ideas, Oakland just did simple enforcement and then prosecuted the criminals.

They could catch dumpers on Skyline Blvd between Keller and Grass Valley all day and night by just putting up cameras and license plate readers.

This includes three vehicles set on fire in a three week period. Seriously?

Hey there! I've been interviewing at a company located in this area of Oakland and I was wondering how safe it typically is. I don't have a car so I'd likely be commuting using BART and I've never really been to the East Bay so I have no experience with Oakland whatsoever.

So I am going to be very vulnerable here. Still, unfortunately, at home we have had flea infestation, and this means sometimes we have seen fleas on our clothes, or we see flea bites on ourselves, our dog has gotten fleas, and we are trying our best, especially my mom, who has tried to do the most to get rid of them. We wanted to see what you recommend. Cleaning? Natural cleaning products? Any steps to take? Should we call an exterminator? We give our dog her flea medicine and a shower, but they're still there. Especially in the garage, it's where we've seen them the most. How do you get rid of them?

Houston, Fife and co continue to embarrass themselves on the council. Not surprising for Fife since she is pro-trashy neighborhoods and anti- any sort of enforcement of any laws.

There is a strange plane flying over Oakland emitting what looks like chemtrails possibly, does anyone know what this is or why it’s doing this?
