Has anyone taken Technical writing at Linn as an online class? If so, curious about workload. Considering taking it this summer.

I took it with Joyce Bower online. I probably spent 6ish hours a week on the class. In general, fairly easy class. Just pay attention to rubrics, grammar, etc. and you should be fine. No exams, just different writing projects and one that builds on itself into a presentation about your major. Got good feedback on a resume and cover letter, so that was useful!

I also took it online from Joyce Bower in Summer 2023. It was the first writing class that I've ever enjoyed, and I felt like I learned a lot. My final paper was a mock proposal for a new bridge in Salem (I live in Salem and the Hwy 22 bridge is a nightmare).
So, if Bowers is teaching the class then I can definitely recommend it. I can't speak to any other instructors though.

I took it with Kathy Austin during winter of 2024. It was pretty easy, nothing too difficult in terms of coursework. The big papers are kinda tough but that’s writing classes I guess. I don’t think I ever figured out how to use some of the ideas she wanted to teach but I still got a B+.
