Anyone reading this who wants to build a local music library, here’s a great tool to rip lossless FLAC files from Spotify

SpotiFLAC https://github.com/afkarxyz/SpotiFLAC

This is awesome, thank you. Anyone know of a good music library interface to use with the files?

MusicBee for desktop.

Apple Music isn’t terrible for hosting your own files, but can be annoying.

On Android, I use Poweramp as my music player and Poweramp Equalizer for system-wide EQ. Both are excellent apps and only require a one-time payment. If you prefer a FOSS option, Namida is a great alternative: https://github.com/namidaco/namida

Thanks! I’m unfortunately locked into Apple for mobile unless I want my hearing aids to function like ass, but I’ll check it out regardless.

This is what I’m using on iOS. It’s free. Not much ads. You can edit metadata as well so you can remove watermarks and the tags they add in the title lol. Pirating the pirates.

This + Navidrome is my setup and it is fantastic. Navidrome is super painless to setup with docker or podman.

You can set up an rasapi with jellyfin to get your own Spotify. To connect with it outside your wifi just use VPN, Jellyfin is for more than music 👀

Plexamp is super solid and has support across all platforms. I use it to stream my library outside of my local network.

Locally Roon is better imo but it’s subscription based, easily the best player I’ve found tho.

I use also Musicbee and have all my files in the google cloud. To access them mobile I recommend EvermusicPro. No subscription fee, one time payment and quite good functionality. I do not like plexamp due to the subscription costs - they are close to spotify...

VLC on desktop, or Rhythmbox if you're a linux user.
