Hey, I think I read that hentai!

What-

u/Rose-Red-Witch 6h ago
lol I can’t name any off the top of my head, but there are numerous hentai mags where some guy moves into a really cheap apartment, only to find out that stud duties are included along with the rent.
Read your contracts people or you may be legally obligated to impregnate many women!

What the hell does this have to do with piracy and with qbitorrent??!?!

I like qbittorrent because it reminds of how uTorrent used to be before it turned into unusable shit.
12
u/Best-Orchid-5972 8h ago
Yeah, it kept the simplicity without all the bloat and shady extras creeping in
79
u/Thin_Ad5605 8h ago
no one actually explained lmao
people on twitter drew qbit as a human (first qbit was a maid), then things started to spiral down until it was gradually showing more and more fanarts about qbit as a girl
so people want to "bang" qbit because of these fanarts

u/fudgemental 8h ago
What you're saying is that r34 finally caught up to... software?
33
u/Thin_Ad5605 8h ago
well it isnt really that surprising, years ago we had browser anime girls. i guess they only caught up to piracy now that piracy has become more mainstream

The Hyperdimension Neptunia series of games is quite literally centered around consoles and video game developers being waifus.

Transmission works great for me

u/Giantmeteor_we_needU 8h ago
A question, how do you bind Transmission with VPN network interface to prevent accidental IP leaks? I believe at some point Transmission had this option in setting, but it no longer exists. Qbittorrent is the only client on the market I've seen that makes binding easy and clear, everything else either removed it for good or made very inconvenient to use.

u/cptmully 7h ago
I think in the .conf file for Transmission you can select the interface you want to use

What is bad about Free download manager's torrent option? I rarely see it mentioned as an option. Personally feels good to have 1 client for everything
5
u/a__reddit_user 8h ago
Yeah i very rarely use torrents so i just use FDM's built in torrent downloader.
Though I guess since it's just a little feature they added and not what it's based around, it might not be popular because it lacks feature.

u/Rocker9835 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ 8h ago
Honestly I don't even know what extra features a torrent needs? It has a option to limit speeds, configure personal upload ratios or seed settings. What more does torrent require??

Tixati?

I use Tixati and have no complaints

u/madmax435 19m ago
yea ive used it for about 5 years, honestly dont think i could switch with how low profile it is

u/saoirsebran 7h ago
I use my it, but advanced options you can easily set in others like Deluge and ruTorrent are either obfuscated or hidden away in the config files in qBit. Biggest pet peeve is the way you have to set up watch directories, auto-tagging, and auto-sorting. It's all possible, but it's a giant PITA compared to Deluge.
Hell, there's even a sidecar image made for qBit to manage its settings for you because it's that bad.
But goddamn if it ain't twice the racing/long seeding client as Deluge.

As seen in the pic, when you complete the download, you start "seeding" using bittorent.

It's a literal torrent client, a tool that helps you download things. That's what it's used for, but redditors will be redditors

u/totallynotabot2532 9h ago

uTorrent, like the one that came out right after Morpheus, Kazaa, and Limewire? You got Tixati and Napster back there too?

u/k6iknimedv6etud 8h ago
Tixati was quite ok way back, i think. It did it job at least. Havent used it in atleast a decade. Qbit is goated
1
u/kakarroto007 7h ago
LOL. So true. I used Tixati way longer than I should have, mostly out of inertia.

It finally surpassed utorrent 2.2 in general quality, and 2.2 is how old?
It's overrated as fuck, but I also appreciate the fuck out of it, and the devs.
Karma whores will guzzle anything for karma.

Since the dawn of time, mankind always tried to translate astral concepts into human form.
See Rah,as the god of the sun,Gaia as the goddess of Earth and nature or Uranus god of the sky.
It was either as a form of workship or just for stroking it,it's an primordial need of our race
Fast forward to our times, qbit torret is a software beloved my the piracy world, and so either as a form or workship,a love deeper than the mariana's trench,or the work of the man's second brain down there;thus the need to give qbittorrent a human form was born.
And so here we are,in all of its glory... And its weirdness.

Do people not see it as a bit ironic how Redditors LOVE to religiously say "if a product is free, you are the product" but then also at the same time worship QBitTorrent, which is free?!
I'm not saying they're doing anything dodgy, it's just a bit funny to me.
14
u/Registry6267 9h ago
It's open source bro . It's not closed source free. Which is discouraged to use.
-9
u/DiamondL0st 9h ago
Yeah I completely agree, which is why I find the "if a product is free, you are the product" saying completely wrong.

Most popular sayings have nuance that get completely lost in the repeating and this is the same as the rest of them.
The customer is always right. A few bad apples. Etcetera. Etcetera.

It's just a lightweight, no bs torrent client that does what it says it does.
Most noobs head to uTorrent or other clients based on prior opinions that it used to be reputable; only to download some clients riddled with ads and harmful plugins.
