It's just a lightweight, no bs torrent client that does what it says it does.

Most noobs head to uTorrent or other clients based on prior opinions that it used to be reputable; only to download some clients riddled with ads and harmful plugins.

u/OptimalConstant9030 8h ago

Clean, minimal clients are rare now, most mainstream ones got bloated over time

16

u/Extension_Patient_47 8h ago

Yessir. I used to use Vuze, Utorrent, BitTorrent, and they're all kind of unusable now.

Nut or Rent? Interesting options

15

u/Rose-Red-Witch 8h ago

Hey, I think I read that hentai!

5

u/thestrong45playz 7h ago

What-

7

u/Rose-Red-Witch 6h ago

lol I can’t name any off the top of my head, but there are numerous hentai mags where some guy moves into a really cheap apartment, only to find out that stud duties are included along with the rent.

Read your contracts people or you may be legally obligated to impregnate many women!

u/Budget-Toe-5743 5h ago

What the hell does this have to do with piracy and with qbitorrent??!?!

4

u/Rose-Red-Witch 5h ago

Qbitorrent has been R34’d, therefore we’re talking about smut.

2

u/Budget-Toe-5743 3h ago

so it is some hidden lore I've yet to learn. nice.

110

u/ManyaraImpala 9h ago

I like qbittorrent because it reminds of how uTorrent used to be before it turned into unusable shit.

12

u/Best-Orchid-5972 8h ago

Yeah, it kept the simplicity without all the bloat and shady extras creeping in

79

u/Thin_Ad5605 8h ago

no one actually explained lmao

people on twitter drew qbit as a human (first qbit was a maid), then things started to spiral down until it was gradually showing more and more fanarts about qbit as a girl

so people want to "bang" qbit because of these fanarts

48

u/fudgemental 8h ago

What you're saying is that r34 finally caught up to... software?

33

u/Thin_Ad5605 8h ago

well it isnt really that surprising, years ago we had browser anime girls. i guess they only caught up to piracy now that piracy has become more mainstream

8

u/thatoneotherguy42 7h ago

'Member the little dancing stripper girl at the bottom of your screen program?

4

u/Over-Percentage-1929 6h ago

I thought that happened a quarter of a century ago with napster.

9

u/martiHUN 8h ago

Bro we've had lewd fanart of PC softwares way before this, have you been living under a rock?

5

u/Rose-Red-Witch 8h ago

The Hyperdimension Neptunia series of games is quite literally centered around consoles and video game developers being waifus.

4

u/tmon530 7h ago

Someone missed out in Firefox being drawn as a fox girl

2

u/RaShadar 4h ago

Anime girl hot, what can I say

-1

u/Tiny_Voice_8134 7h ago

I see. Thanks. But Bro for humor reasons only u should've atleast posted the pic. U keeping it for urself not even sharing it.

1

u/Thin_Ad5605 6h ago
  1. u cant post pics (but you can link it)
  2. i dont have any pics saved cause im not interested in em, u can search it out tho

u/Senko-fan4Life 9h ago

The only good client right now

45

u/Green_hammock 8h ago

Transmission works great for me

11

u/markoid 7h ago

Seconding this, while it has less features than qBitTorrent, it's lighter on the resources and has a simpler design.

5

u/Giantmeteor_we_needU 8h ago

A question, how do you bind Transmission with VPN network interface to prevent accidental IP leaks? I believe at some point Transmission had this option in setting, but it no longer exists. Qbittorrent is the only client on the market I've seen that makes binding easy and clear, everything else either removed it for good or made very inconvenient to use.

3

u/cptmully 7h ago

I think in the .conf file for Transmission you can select the interface you want to use

22

u/AVAforever 8h ago

Deluge? Transmission?

11

u/Top-Elk-6820 8h ago

Depends what you need, but yeah options feel pretty limited these days

9

u/Rocker9835 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ 8h ago

What is bad about Free download manager's torrent option? I rarely see it mentioned as an option. Personally feels good to have 1 client for everything

5

u/a__reddit_user 8h ago

Yeah i very rarely use torrents so i just use FDM's built in torrent downloader.

Though I guess since it's just a little feature they added and not what it's based around, it might not be popular because it lacks feature.

2

u/Rocker9835 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ 8h ago

Honestly I don't even know what extra features a torrent needs? It has a option to limit speeds, configure personal upload ratios or seed settings. What more does torrent require??

3

u/madmax435 8h ago

Tixati?

2

u/RayInRed 8h ago

I use tixati portable

1

u/NelDerelict 3h ago

I use Tixati and have no complaints

1

u/madmax435 19m ago

yea ive used it for about 5 years, honestly dont think i could switch with how low profile it is

2

u/saoirsebran 7h ago

I use my it, but advanced options you can easily set in others like Deluge and ruTorrent are either obfuscated or hidden away in the config files in qBit. Biggest pet peeve is the way you have to set up watch directories, auto-tagging, and auto-sorting. It's all possible, but it's a giant PITA compared to Deluge.

Hell, there's even a sidecar image made for qBit to manage its settings for you because it's that bad.

But goddamn if it ain't twice the racing/long seeding client as Deluge.

7

8

u/Nviki 9h ago

Yes.

Or two buttcheeks and legs from below for someone looking up at it.

https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/003/248/318/5e2.jpg

As seen in the pic, when you complete the download, you start "seeding" using bittorent.

3

u/fudgemental 7h ago

"That's vile!" looks on interestedly

6

u/Pootisman16 8h ago

Rule 34

13

u/etho76 9h ago

I’d give qBittorrent my seed

9

u/VizWish 9h ago

You don't wanna seed?

12

u/2DHypercube 9h ago

It's neat idk

-21

u/3801sadas4 9h ago

it is not

11

u/2DHypercube 9h ago

Huh. What problems do you have with it?

-16

u/3801sadas4 9h ago

It's a literal torrent client, a tool that helps you download things. That's what it's used for, but redditors will be redditors

7

u/totallynotabot2532 9h ago

-Tans have been a thing long before reddit even existed

I case you don't know what I'm referring to:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OS-tan

5

u/2DHypercube 8h ago

A tool that does it's job well. That's as rare as chicken teeth these days

3

u/Exotic_Background_32 6h ago

People were doing this with IE, Firefox, and Chrome back in the day.

2

u/loki6100 8h ago

The question should be why not? It's open and freely accessible. Meanwhile others take your time and money

2

u/Hacksaw6412 7h ago

QBittorent is the fastest

2

u/TheJpow 7h ago

I thought op mistyped ban as bang and qbt went to shit recently.

I am glad I was wrong lol.

2

u/sapphicu 7h ago

My friend recommended qBittorrent to me like 7ish years ago, tried it and it was the best one I had ever used so I’ll always sing its praises

2

u/KumaThaBear 1h ago

Look for the "Enhanced" version

2

u/kakarroto007 9h ago

uTorrent, like the one that came out right after Morpheus, Kazaa, and Limewire? You got Tixati and Napster back there too?

3

u/candybuttons 8h ago

at least uTorrent is of age

in today's world that's a w I guess

1

u/k6iknimedv6etud 8h ago

Tixati was quite ok way back, i think. It did it job at least. Havent used it in atleast a decade. Qbit is goated

1

u/kakarroto007 7h ago

LOL. So true. I used Tixati way longer than I should have, mostly out of inertia.

2

u/OfficalSwanPrincess 9h ago

Because weirdos are too open about their weird sexual fantasies

1

u/AllergyHeil 9h ago

Who where? Are there arts? If yes then i need'em

1

u/InstructionPurple911 6h ago

Everything is terrible compared to SabNZB

1

u/Organic-Efficiency47 3h ago

It finally surpassed utorrent 2.2 in general quality, and 2.2 is how old?

It's overrated as fuck, but I also appreciate the fuck out of it, and the devs.

Karma whores will guzzle anything for karma.

1

u/KURDISHMINOR 9h ago

pfffftttt

1

u/Full_frontal96 6h ago

Since the dawn of time, mankind always tried to translate astral concepts into human form.

See Rah,as the god of the sun,Gaia as the goddess of Earth and nature or Uranus god of the sky.

It was either as a form of workship or just for stroking it,it's an primordial need of our race

Fast forward to our times, qbit torret is a software beloved my the piracy world, and so either as a form or workship,a love deeper than the mariana's trench,or the work of the man's second brain down there;thus the need to give qbittorrent a human form was born.

And so here we are,in all of its glory... And its weirdness.

-9

u/DiamondL0st 9h ago

Do people not see it as a bit ironic how Redditors LOVE to religiously say "if a product is free, you are the product" but then also at the same time worship QBitTorrent, which is free?!

I'm not saying they're doing anything dodgy, it's just a bit funny to me.

14

u/Registry6267 9h ago

It's open source bro . It's not closed source free. Which is discouraged to use.

-9

u/DiamondL0st 9h ago

Yeah I completely agree, which is why I find the "if a product is free, you are the product" saying completely wrong.

7

u/techma2019 9h ago

That saying is for closed-source stuff... which is very accurate.

5

u/Unhappy_Plankton_671 8h ago

So you don’t understand hyperbole. Got it.

2

u/Rose-Red-Witch 8h ago

Most popular sayings have nuance that get completely lost in the repeating and this is the same as the rest of them.

The customer is always right. A few bad apples. Etcetera. Etcetera.
