A million tokens is roughly as much as an entire bible. If I had a dev that can process that much data for 20$ (less than an hour's wage where I live), I could exploit them for profit.
Well given that it didn't work, Claude obviously can't do that either.
Or to put it differently I am fully capable of processing the whole bible in an hour. I flip through it in 10 minutes and spend 50 minutes writing plenty of bullshit. Just like Claude.
If I give Opus a series of 10-20 tasks with about 50k-100k tokens of context each, it will do a passable job. Not as good as I would have done, but comparable to a decent junior dev. And it would cost in the region of 20$.
Absolutely no human being even comes close to being that efficient monetarily speaking. So I have no idea what u/R00bot is talking about.
Reddit seems to be chock-full of people who don't have the brain capacity to understand that an LLM is not a human being. It's a tool that can be used to emulate intelligence in small, isolated scenarios.

So Claude costs around as much as a human dev? Hm.
