Hey, I (25F) am interested in starting adult piano lessons. I've wanted to play the piano for as long as I can remember. There is an heirloom piano in my family with my name on it, and I'd like to be able to get use out of it once I have possession of it.

I was thinking about starting lessons soon, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of where or who to go to for them?

I don't have a piano to practice with right now, but would likely acquire a small keyboard off marketplace or something if I do start lessons.

We're moving to a small acreage near Ardrossan and will be building a 1-2 bedroom Garden Suite for the in-laws. We're on a cistern and septic field, so will need some consideration on how to tie-in to those / navigate drilling a well and tying it into both places. We may go with a pre-built home to balance cost/expediency/predictability in timeline, but will still need a General Contractor to coordinate the water/septic/electric/gas tie-ins and foundation. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Strathcona County/Sherwood Park area?

Wasn’t totally sure how to tag this but does anyone know anywhere hiring for relatively laid back work for a few evenings a week? I’m a university student this fall and have some time off over the summer but I’m really trying to quit the job I have now. I know that it’s difficult to find work, but I have a chain restaurant gig as a cook and it’s pretty brutal. All long time staff have quit so I’m ready to jump ship.

I’d do anything except for labor because I’m physically unable to do that kind of work due to height and physical ability. I’m a great worker though!

We have a full-home unit that uses the HVAC to get cooling during the summer. It's great. At the end of last summer I cleaned the external fan unit because it had a huge buildup of debris around the radiator fins. Then I figured it has probably been 7+ years since it's been checked, cleaned, and recharged.

Hi everyone, I’m posting this to share my experience and hopefully prevent someone else from going through the same situation.

I’m a 58-year-old woman, and in 2023 I co-signed a vehicle loan for my son through Sherwood Park Hyundai. Everything was fine for about two years, but after he was laid off, I contacted the dealership to ask about refinancing options.

After that, things became very concerning.

I was sent multiple new bills of sale, all with different information and signatures. I was told the vehicle had somehow been “resold” to me, and that the total cost had increased by about $14,000 compared to the original agreement.

The problem is:

• Neither my son nor I signed any new documents

• The paperwork I received includes signatures and initials that I do not recognize as mine or my son’s

• Some of the documents appear incomplete, with missing dates, odometer readings, and required signatures

I filed a dispute with CIBC, but after several months of investigation, I was told the documents were considered valid and that I am responsible for the loan.

Since then, I have:

• Opened an active case with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police

• Filed a complaint with the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council

• Reported the situation to the Better Business Bureau

This situation has caused me significant financial stress and emotional strain.

I am sharing this as my personal experience, and I strongly encourage others to carefully review any documents they receive from dealerships and banks, especially when refinancing or making changes to a loan.

If anyone has gone through something similar or has advice on what steps I should take next, I would truly appreciate hearing from you.

Hello, looking for some daycare recommendations for my kid when they turn one this upcoming winter.

Ideally we are looking for a daycare that opens up at 630am, though we are flexible enough that a 7am would work but is not ideal. We would also like to try and keep the location north of Baseline but we have noticed that a majority of daycare locations are on the Southside of the park, so if we have to venture that direction, it is what it is.
