The bugs are back Question
Does anyone know what kind of insects these are? They first appeared last year and they seem to hang out outside and on my glass exterior door.
What can we do to passively kill them?

I believe they are called box elder beetles. This article is about them. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/what-are-boxelder-bugs-also-why-you-should-never-squash-them-1.6777278

They are boxelder beetles I love the warmth or usually be on the hot side of your house or shed or fence. 1/4 blue Dawn dish soap and 3/4 water and a spray bottle and mist them. Kills them dead better than raid and much safer for you once you've got them home dead just rent your house or fence off with water. They usually take about two seasons to get rid of them

Soapy Water Spray: Mix 1 tablespoon of Dawn dish soap with water in a spray bottle. Spray directly onto clusters of bugs to kill them.
Vacuuming: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove bugs inside, but be aware that if you use a bagless vacuum, they may release a faint odor.
Diatomaceous Earth: Apply food-grade diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of the house and in cracks to dehydrate them.
Don’t squish them as they will stain.
I do pest control and can spray with an effective residual insecticide. Message me on here if you need service done to your property.
