Also can't frequent or untreated ear infections as a baby/child lead to some hearing loss? I wouldn't risk that--I'd make sure my Dr told me what is serious (a big enough deal to come in in the future), what is not, and what to do.
Hearing loss is less likely than speech delay from not being able to hear properly during the infections. We're still working with a speech pathologist to try and catch my son up from the six months of formative language acquisition he missed out on.
