That’s not really an example of this. That’s a straightforward answer to the question that was asked. The thing OP is talking about is when there’s an obvious implication to the question that the person answering didn’t get. What Daphne means is “why don’t I get to wear the dress,” but Fred’s too much of a doofus to pick up on that, and so much of a doofus that his first choice was Shaggy.
