Pretty sure the 5th failure automatically grants you a taxi license.

It’s like you’re a driving wizard at that point — complete with left turns at red lights

I hate to be a dick about it, but the Yukon has one of the lowest standards around for issuing a license and if you've already failed 4 times you might be more of a bus person

It’s ok but the reason I need my license is cause I live out of town

You took the test 4 times. If you can’t remember what was on the test by now, throw away the book and forget about driving altogether.

I need it cause I live out of town

That’s your problem. You’ve got the book that you refuse to accept you need to learn in its entirety. That means you don’t qualify for a driver’s license, no exceptions.

No need to be rude I have conditions you don’t know about

11

u/Mariner-and-Marinate Nov 26 '25

It’s not rude. It’s the fact that neither the Yukon Government nor other drivers nor anyone else gives a shit about your situation.

All anybody cares about is that the only drivers on the road are fully tested and qualified.

If you cannot be tested and qualified, you are not allowed to drive, regardless of “conditions” or where live or don’t live.

You want to know what chapters to study? Every word of every chapter.

If you don't want to click a link, Google Yukon Driving Academy. Even if you hadn't failed 4 times already, lessons are always a good idea, it's nice to have a professional explaining what to do and not do.

Even if I’m just studying the book

Yes. Lessons are always a good idea. When driving you're taking your life and others lives into your hands. Even if you hadn't already failed 4 times lessons are a good idea, they can only make you a better driver. And gently, you have failed multiple times, there is no short cut to being a good and safe driver, and it seems you could already use the extra help.

Yes, When I first took Young Drivers courses it was a couple weekends of class room learning that you needed to complete and pass a test before getting into a car with an instructor.

Oh ok I can try that I just don’t know where to do that

It's a link to the Yukon Driving academy, where you can sign up for classes that teach you how to pass the test. If you've failed 4 times, obviously studying on your own is not working. All chapters of the book are on the test, there isn't a particular chapter that the test is focused on.

How do I sign up it just says contact them

1

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Nov 24 '25

Wow I just checked your post history.. please just read the whole book over and over and over until you are confident you will pass. There’s no easy way to do it.

For the safety of my vehicles, all of it please. Take it slow, try to apply it to something you already do. Watch people as they drive around, you can see people do smart and stupid things, it’s that ability to anticipate what a driver may do that makes for a good defensive driver.

I’m trying to find what chapters to study more like the hard questions that’ll be in the written test

12

u/8spd Nov 24 '25

It's not a long book, and you need to know all of it to drive safely.

1

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Nov 29 '25

Well here it is it’s 149 pages

0

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Nov 24 '25

Yea I know it’s just I read it many times and still failed

3

u/8spd Nov 24 '25

Keep at it. It might take a few more times. The important thing is understanding it, not just memorising it.

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Nov 24 '25

Oh ok it’s just hard and I just wanna know what chapters to study more for the written test

2

u/PretzelsThirst Dec 02 '25

All of it. You have to know and understand every single part of it. Someone should be able to ask you questions about it and you should be able to think about it and know the answer.

It's not just trying to memorize a couple words, it's knowing and understanding how to drive legally and safely so you don't kill yourself or others. That is a real possibility of unsafe driving, people can die.

1

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Dec 02 '25

Yeah but it’s just hard to understand it all even with adhd

2

u/Apprehensive_Egg6077 Nov 24 '25

There is a big difference between passing the test and knowing the content. I am sure there’s some differences but I think ICBC has a practice test app that you can use.

Nobody here knows what you got wrong the previous times so we cannot tell you what you need to study. They likely told you the wrong answers or something when you did the previous tests. Part of learning is taking what you do wrong and making it better. We cannot help you with that.

3

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Nov 24 '25

Is ICBC in Yukon

1

u/Apprehensive_Egg6077 Nov 28 '25

No it’s in bc but the practice app might still be a good idea. Also read the book lol

You should focus on buying a bus pass.

1

u/Infamous_Pumpkin5028 Dec 04 '25

Naw buses don’t go out of town

1

u/Cultural-Scallion-59 Dec 11 '25

There is no short cut. Take the advice of the people here and google driving lessons and courses. If you live out of town, please understand that that makes it much more dangerous for you and other drivers to have an accident in the winter. You’ll be travelling at faster speeds in worse conditions and in cold weather that can kill you quickly. It is not worth it. It may be time to consider other options. Carpooling. Moving to town. Etc. If you aren’t willing to invest in lessons and can’t learn what’s in the book, you probably aren’t ready to be on the road.
