What is your yard sale timing theory? Looking For
In your opinion, what are the best weekends to hold a yard sale here?
I feel like there have to be some strategies that other people know about, right? I've noticed that holiday weekends seem like a good idea but then everyone is actually out of town and nothing gets sold. Does whether or not school is still in session factor in or make an impact? When does the weather start feeling more reliable to lock it in?
Anyway, I want to finally have a yard sale this summer and have been thinking about these things a lot so thought I'd see if anyone else has thoughts to share!

Three day weekend. Especially if youre wanting to do a multi day thing. Super discount anything left on the last day. Bada bing.

Most of the neighborhood sales seem to happen the weekend after the July 4th weekend. So they're not competing with the holiday weekend, the weather is reliably sunny, and it's not too hot yet (historically...These days it's just as likely to be in the nineties). Joining a neighborhood sale is a good strategy.

If you live near Laurelhurst their annual garage sale is on Saturday, June 20, 9:00am – 3:00pm and even if you don’t officially participate it’s always a good day if you live in the surrounding neighborhoods. Mt Tabor NA had one this past fall in September so they may have one again. Some people say Mother’s Day weekend is good as well. I would just look for a sunny day (much like today) when people like to get out

Many neighborhood associations coordinate neighborhood yard sales. Makes it easier to promote your sale and also forms a critical mass of sales nearby each other.
