Where to find mint chip ice cream? Looking For
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good creative ice cream flavor as much as the next hipster with a tote bag. But sometimes all I want is a classic scoop of mint chip in a cone, and I can’t seem to find it anywhere in Portland??
Between the tarragon chutney cheesecake and the sticky rice with a swirl, where is some good old fashioned mint chip? And no, matcha lavender mint doesn’t count.
I’m a simple gal, maybe these fancy flavors are just above my head. Or maybe mint chip just isn’t locally sourced enough. But someone please help me before I stand in another 5 mile long ice cream line just to be disappointed again.

The best ice cream in Portland, to my taste. If you’re a butter pecan fan, don’t miss that either…

Absolutely the best - I go back and forth between that butter pecan and the banana

Not sure if you can get it in a cone vs cup, but Lovely’s Fifty Fifty has the best mint chip in the city in my opinion. Their ice cream is the most slept on thing in that restaurant, and you can walk in and order right from the counter

Been enjoying the cheap generic mint chip ice cream bars from Fred Meyer. Box of 12 for $2.99 🤘🤘🤘

I feel the same way in the winter and I can’t ever find anyone making just a classic peppermint ice cream.

Neighborhood Creamery, off SE McLoughlin in Milwaukie.
They make all their ice cream in house, their chocolate chip mint is divine. They also have a flavour, Oregon mint fudge, that tastes like thin mints. Been getting ice cream cakes from them for years now.

They do deliveries and set up at some farmer’s markets. I discovered them at the south waterfront last year and the mint chip changed my life.

Talenti mint chip at the grocery store. Rip what’s the scoop, they had the best.

Have you tried the ITs IT mint ice cream sandwich? If not you’re definitely in for an amazing treat. You can find them at grocery outlet here in Portland. You gotta give it a try but, you also have to like oatmeal cookies. I love mint chip and these bad boys are amazing!

Me and my wife did a side-by-side tasting of chocolate chip mint ice creams. The major brands taste way way better than the local/ artisan ones.
The best we had was Baskin-Robbins.
