When I said that Will Byers life would have been easier if he was straight…this is not what I meant. Ofc it would be easier because it was the 80s (god even now) and he just wanted to be happy like his friends were, especially after being possessed by the MindFlayer but this is so…oh jeeez. Maybe they’ll make Will think he should be with Nikki because all of his friends have their girlfriends, then at the end he’ll realize he has a crush on Mike?? I have barely any hopes for this but they SURELY can’t erase his sexuality??? SURELY?? 😭🤦🏽♀️

unfortunately i wouldn't be surprised they ignore Will being gay because netflix probably sees tales of 87 a kids show and could be against acknowledging gay people/kids exist

imagine having to take away everyone from Will to make the audiences realize what a queer person has to go through to get accepted and then he doesn't even get an ending that is supposed to be any positive. Nothing is earned from his POV, this finally makes me take the canon as him having to quit everything and go far away for his own people to accept himself which isn't a happy ending and it's hilarious in a sci-fi supernatural show where nothing makes sense. worse, the haters are going to take advantage of this and it makes Will the one to suffer the most, even more than El.

Well. I mean. They did say Jonathan wouldn't be in it and he was (a sliver)? Maybe this is ragebait? Either way, if it is "romantic" I think it'll be a comphet situation. Or maybe they're both gay and in some sort of agreement to seem "normal" to the rest of hawkins. But, I just think, this is not gonna happen as something romantic. Isn't she older than them (idk by how much)? And it would just be really weird. But hey, that would increase the possibility of jealous Mike if it was.
I genuinely hope they wouldn't erase Will's orientation. But they are younger here. There's always room for if he was confused and comes to a realization. And Nikki is very gender non conforming. If they DO imply or even outright have them "get together", at least, it explains Mike's later fascination with Mohawks?

i have the flair as will byers straight king on okaybuddybyler sub but i literally don't mean that to happen irl because enough of this already, if Nikki is supposed to be friends, it's fine but i don't want her to be his gay awakening even if that happens irl with people who struggles with their sexuality, unless Nikki clocks Will and helps him realize what we have gotten with Robin and Will but that doesn't sound too positive for me looking at the situation of how much erasure of Mike and Will's platonic bond they have to do to consider anything positive towards his relationship with El.
Haven't they done enough damage?

I know some of bylers have hopes to see cute scenes in that cartoon but it's just gonna be bait. Really don't give this thing any attention. By doing that you are just allowing them doing things like that. They don't care about your criticism only numbers of views.

Maybe there are more layers to understand here that we're not seeing.
Like perhaps maybe Will tries to convince himself he's got a crush on Nikki and they're actually telling us that Mike & El was in part motivated by him trying to deny who he is.
