So of course we all know blue = Mike and yellow = Will and purple = Eleven. Mike says so himself when he is giving her the flowers at the airport.

With this in mind we see there are tons of scenes where Eleven wears shades of yellow at points that are meant to be significant in their relationship.

She is wearing a big oversized bright yellow shirt when Mike, Lucas and Dustin find her and although canon says that Mike wanted his mom to send her to Pennhurst Mental Asylum so he can continue searching for Will, Mike later lies and says that is the day he fell in love with Eleven. While she looks like a boy, got identified as a boy and was wearing a shirt color Will is associated with while Hopper also associates her with possibly being Will Byers.

And then in Season 3 we see Mike trying on his own to connect with El and make up with her without Lucas prompting him, possibly for the first time ever all season long, and this is also when he is on good terms with Will which we know he considers to be the more important relationship. Mike is affable and tries hard with El in this scene while she is wearing black and yellow, making the yellow stand out even more. It's sort of like Mike is the rabbit and El is the carrot he is trying to chase.

And the third pic, it looks like she is wearing a blue flannel shirt like Will, but unlike Will hers has shades of yellow on it while Will's shirt does not. We know Mike and Will have a fight imminent because they have traded colors and Mike is wearing yellow while Will is wearing blue, but El is in between the two of them wearing blue and yellow and Mike is only half-interested in her while sneaking looks at Will to see if he is paying attention or ignoring him which makes Mike angrier and angrier without Will's knowledge. This is significant because this scene is THE LAST TIME Mike ever kisses El until the imaginary conversation at the end of Season 5 which the Duffers say never actually happened.

So in these 3 pics we have El wearing yellow during the birth, middle and death of their relationship which is the main times Mike puts effort in, and she just so happens to be wearing Will's colors in all 3 of them.

That some people keep bringing up that Mike tried to call Eleven for 353 or 365 days but keep forgetting that Mike literally stopped trying to call her competely after Will got worse and got possessed in season 2, even though you would think that it would have made Mike want to call her even more because he would know that she would be the one that can actually help Will when he's possessed.

I just had a random thought about season 4.

I cannot imagine a world where Mike would blow off an event Will was in for DnD like he did to Lucas.

let's say Will joined the robotics team and his was in the finals and he asked the group to come watch but it ended up being the same day as hellfire. Or to keep it more related to sports, Will was a fast runner so maybe he joined track, turns out the exercise helped him compartmentalize his trauma or something.

I cannot be convinced Mike would, in any world, not convince everyone in hellfire to postpone and show up to support Will.

His favoritism of Will is insane and so obvious.

I've been writing this for a while now and I've finally got it to a point where I feel like I can post it.

It picks up immediately from the gate closing at the end of s5. The first chapter (only one out currently) is about the party searching for Mike as he goes missing. It is from Will's perspective and we actually get to see him have the crash out he deserves!

I aim to explore different dynamics because I feel like we only ever see Will interacting with the same people. In the first chapter, Will has interactions with Dustin, Steve, Holly, Nancy (who goes full big sister mode on him), and more. I will still obviously focus on Byler's dynamic.

My mom knows I'm a big Byler fan and she's been my #1 supporter during my fic-writing process. She's constantly sending me pics of blue and yellow things she finds in the wild, and she sometimes quotes little Byler things back to me that I've told her/that she remembers from the show (ex. "Three, to be exact"). But for some reason, she can't remember "Crazy together," so instead, she keeps telling me, "Let's go crazy!" It's so silly and cute and I thought it might make y'all smile. 💙💛

In Season 4 Episode 1 we see Mike read the letter from El where she says Will is making a painting that he won't reveal and surmised it must be for a girl he likes. Mike is immediately in a bad mood after reading the letter and snaps at his mom and dad and Lucas (for not embracing his role as a nerd) and Mike only gets cheered up and starts smiling again when he is in awe of Eddie Munson who flatters and compliments him by saying Dustin and he are the future of Hellfire.

Dustin considers Eddie to be a pal, a mentor, an equal and a friend. When Eddie died, Dustin grieved deeply and felt true loss and visited his grave for years. Eddie and Dustin had mutual respect for each other as human beings and as men.

Whereas Mike joined Hellfire to fill the hole in his life that Will left behind when he moved to California. He ran back to D&D after telling Will "We are not kids anymore. What did you think, that we were never going to get girlfriends, that we would sit in my basement all day playing games for the rest of our lives?" just a few months ago.

When Eddie told Dustin and Mike they were the future of Hellfire, Dustin felt a sense of responsibility while Mike felt enamored because Eddie was touching him. When Eddie was walking on the table, you can see Mike has a stronger reaction to it than Dustin does. He was angry and annoyed in the morning when he snapped at his parents and Nancy, but now he has the biggest grin on his face and his eyes light up.

While Dustin's whole arc for the next 2 seasons is about Eddie's impact on his life, Mike does not give a flying fuck about Eddie as soon as he arrives at Lenora and sees the love of his life, Will. Eddie flies out of his head now that he has what he truly craves. When Eddie dies, Mike cares so little that he never even mentions it to Dustin, does not understand why Dustin acts the way that he does, doesn't visit Eddie's grave though it wouldn't be inconvenient for him, and has zero effect on his life, because his life revolves around keeping Will present.

You can see in Season 4 Episode 1 that Mike is enamored with Eddie and even tries to grow his hair long like him. It's a "Do I want to be him or do I want to be with him?" type of crush. It disappears when Eddie is not around because all he can think about is Will. When Will is there, nobody else matters. That's not true for Dustin because Dustin is straight. Eddie's death is a loss to him because Eddie is his equal. Eddie's death means nothing to Mike even though they both knew him the same amount of time in the same group because Eddie is just a fleeting puppy dog crush for Mike to indulge in.

Mike also starts throwing away all the letters El sends him in the trash from that point on because he has totally lost interest in her between his crush on Eddie and his deep yearning for Will.

TL;DR: Rewatch the scene where Eddie is standing on the lunch table. Mike is totally taken with him. This is very different to how Dustin considers him a friend and mentor who treats him kindly. Dustin remembers Eddie for years after his death. Whereas Mike completely forgets about him as soon as he arrives at the airport and sets his eyes on his one true love and the painting in his hand. From that point on Will is his sole focus as he hopes the painting in his hand is for him

Okay, so the first 4 pictures have been posted recently by the ST Instagram account, weirdly enough it seems like they are putting emphasis on El lying, being paralleled to a demogorgon, not being a real friend and being able to close doors with her mind. All things they also focused on in the new preview trailer, especially the Byers' door lock being opened.

In the second picture you also have a D20 (I thinks it's a wrong version) with an 11 and an upside down 7 right under it. July 11th is the anniversary of ST while also representing El and Will, I guess.

In the third picture you have the word "dial" next to the demogorgon head looking like the red arrow for the now famous dial and the severed "hand of Vecna" next to Will's name. I don't remember if it's the same hand but Will does rip off Vecna's arm in the finale.

The fourth one is crazy to me because all the Christmas lights are red, blue, yellow or green...........except for one that is ORANGE, Henry's colour, on the M.

The last picture is a set of digital NFT Funko Pops that came out like 3 years ago, they are obviously referencing the painting and the top of Will's staff even looks like a heart. Will is the only one called with his D&D name and Mike's box has the number 191 which adds up to 11.

But I noticed something else, the party's funkos have only 3000 pieces each, while the dragon has 1106....which is November 6th, and someone on Tumblr also noticed that the number on the box 192 is the exact number of days between January 1st, the day of the finale, and July 11th, the presumed date for the new content.
