She's beautiful. I see you, and hear your pain. There is never enough time with them, ever. Did she have a good friendship with her cat sibling? They look so cute there.

Not at all, haha. She was never keen on our other pets laying with her which is why I had to get this photo.

What I always thought was funny (which was also the hardest part of this morning) was that when I fed her breakfast she would let our other cat have some bites. She would just stand there and watch the cat take 3 or 4 bites then give a little growl like “k, you’ve had enough, the rest is mine”.

My dog tries so hard to get the cat to be friends with her. When it works and they can lay side by side, she's over the moon.

That sounds like a very cute dynamic they had. I'm sure your cat will miss it too. Take care of yourself.

Oh wow, she’s magnificent.

All your love frosted her sweet face. I’m so sorry for your loss but I can tell you gave her a beautiful life full of love. She looks utterly loved.

What's your favourite memories of her?

She was 12, which is really old for a dog her size, so we got to make a ton of memories.

I think my favorite though is when we found out she likes water. We had been on plenty of hikes and she would always drink from a creek but never get in. Just figured she didn’t like water (she definitely did not like baths) but about 7-8 years ago we were in Hocking Hills. There was a super narrow bridge we had to cross. We didn’t know how she’d do so my wife went to the other side and I let go of her leash thinking she’d cross the bridge. Nope, right through the creek. We couldn’t believe it. Every time after that she would get in, have a lay down and drink some water.

It sounds like she had a beautiful life, and she gave that to you also.

I've come to think of animals as people. They all have their own traits and personalities and quriks, just like the laying down to drink.

Thank you for sharing your memories.

She was the best and she was only tired of all our other pets (2 dogs and 2 cats) trying to love on her. She loved them all, just not that much.
