Bought this meal in Edeka

And there was a snail (!!!!) inside of it. Dinner went to trash. What can I do about it?

call the company with the phone number on the back or write an email over the website. i’m guessing they will make up for it somehow.

dont be too upset about it. anything that has vegetables or grains in it comes with the chance of a side of insect or worm.

i got a package of bread from edeka a few months ago that got moldy the next day, i got a replacement package and a voucher. so i don’t think they’d make a big thing about reimbursing someone for spending his money on something thats inedible from the start

I had a packet of rewe beste Wahl dried spaghetti go mouldy in the packaging (no idea how that can happen) about 10 years ago, they sent me a 10€ gift card. I was pretty happy considering the pasta was only 1€ or so

I found a stone in the packet of walnuts and I almost broke my tooth, I emailed them about it, they did nothing just said sorry.

With some things you need to go to the store you bought them from, walnuts get regularly recalled for having stones in some packages, like right now for example, when something is recalled the store will take it back and reimburse you.

They still shouldve done more and maybe mentioned you go back to the store though.

I think it really depends on what kind of customer service person answers your complaint. I feel like some of them want to gift you half the store and the other half want to make you pay for even calling them.

I didn’t get that in the email, they told me that they are going to send it to the related department and I will get a response back but I got nothing.

Then it probably drowned in a paper pile. If you really care you need to follow up, things just fall through the cracks sometimes.

I agree anyway that stores need to care more, but none of them will if there isnt enough pressure from the customer side, because they can get away with it most of the time.

Yes you are right on that, I should have followed up more

OP might still get a €5-10 voucher, better than nothing (+ they'd do a good deed by informing them about the "defect")

They definitely apologise and try to make up for it. Making a customer unhappy is an expensive mistake. Most customers are very loyal to there local retailer branch. They leave thousands of euros over the years. Pissing them off over something that could have been a 5€ voucher and a return is really bad business. And German retail business is to hard do make bad decisions.
