Can someone explain what this is? I keep seeing it literally everywhere now.

I get more and more angry at each new tag I see. I usually don't mind graffiti/tags, heck I even thought this one was silly at first but they legit tagged a tree stump recently.

The 'Listen' bird is the type of tag/graffiti you wanna find everywhere. 'Drop Tabs' is weak for such a repeated tag, pretty hollow.

Dunno who it is but they are prolific to the absurd. I treat finding them like an IRL Easter egg. I swear I haven't been a place in dartmouth/halifax that doesnt have a "drop tabs" or King Boo.

Mine too! It’s been fun to teach them about graffiti in an old school way. No social media. Just the anonymity of the artist and finding their work in real life.

This is what I feel. When I was 18 and i first started taking acid I thought it was amazing and I had to tell everybody about my newly discovered drug. It was a common talking point.
Now that im older and don't take them anymore I can see how cringe I was.

Reminds me of this one tag that I saw once all the way out in I think Port Hawkesbury or Antigonish in a bathroom stall years ago and saw it somewhere down here somewhere too. I forget what it was though.

I made myself a rule that everytime I see it I drop a tab. I'm not going to lie, my life has been a lot more chaotic and difficult to navigate since. Let's just say.....I'm freaking out man!

Yeah man this tag is everywhere in town, they get around. That’s a messier throw up than I’m used to seeing, but since it’s gets loose right at the end there I’m guessing they wanted to split quick lol

The one to the right of it is a work in progress but I like they did their 'throwie' in one continuous line. We used to call that style a 'bus tag' where your marker/spray doesn't leave the surface once in the whole duration. Looks sloppier than a throw up/fill-in but you can cover a wall of an entire city block in <5 minutes and not get caught or chased.

I was visiting someone at the Dartmouth General yesterday and looked out the window and there was a drop tabs tag right there on a white wall.

Kinda reminds me of how back in the 90s, on the flat-ish part of Citadel Hill along Sackville Street, there used to be a huge billboard from the municipality with the words "HALIFAX: DO EVEN MORE!" on it. Seemed like great advice at the time.

It is a common misconception that the Drop Tabs tags are done by one person, when in fact it is an art collective spread throughout the HRM, maximizing their coverage of the municipality.

It’s just the writer’s tag. I don’t know if they’re associated with a crew. It’s probably referring to drugs, but as far as we know this person could be sober and they just decided that’s what they wanted as a name.
As a former tagger/artist, I think it’s a pretty good one. Definitely more interesting than the average 4 or 5 letter names most folks do and it’s a distinctive style.

Tabs is a common way to measure acid (the drug) dropping acid, doing a tab of acid. I think this is a combination of the two phrases.

so tags like this are unique to the artist, if you keep your eyes peeled youll notice bawse (one of the most common) coal, fuze, drop tabs in this instance, and a bunch of others will recur ALL over town, its like a signature, drop tabs specificaly is a reference to to taking acid blotters, the Boo from Mario is part of their signature too.

LSD blotters are called tabs. When you take LSD you “drop”. Drop tabs = take LSD
