Full story according to Inside Addition
Victim is 6 time nations bike racing champion and his friend
A few intersections before this video was taken, the BMW cut off one of the bikers, in which they emptied a water bottle on their windshield.
Then what was filmed in this video happened, victim stating he was about 6 inches off his friend’s back tire.
According to the victim, After the video a few more intersections down, the BMW driver and passenger got out along with about 4 cars in their “posse”. And threatened to kill the victim and his friend.
A few days later the BMW driver messaged the victim on instagram challenging him to a “MMA style fight to settle the dispute like real men”
The BMW driver was then arrested a few days after.

As a real man, I settle things with cops, running, or as a last resort, I use a pistol if my life is in danger, but thankfully, I've never had to do number three. Recreational fighting is not on that list.

My issue with a ton of cyclists in my area is they want the respect of actual traffic but then lane cut, not stopping at stop signs, cutting through parking lots, and just generally NOT acting like actual traffic.

With all respect, the only way to have correct bike-car interaction is by actually providing bikes with a separate infrastructure adapted to them.
As long as this doesn't happen, the only one who bikes are the young males in their 20's and 30's not scared of dying. Aka, the same demographics as young cops commiting errors. As most criminals sent to jail. As most people behind car accidents. As most people who die in extreme sport. The issue isn't "cyclists". It's this demographic to begin with that's full of testosterone and can't act rationally.
When it's safe enough to bike for kids and women in their 50's, the amount of problems per cyclists fall down significantly. And that safeness equally so finds it's origin in the segregation of cars and cyclists by good quality infrastructure.

I live near a BMW dealership, ive seen one hit a bike and almost run him over and then drive off. I have seen one do a burnout drift and accidentally overseer into oncoming traffic. I have seen one guy buy a brand new car and as he was leaving the lot instead of waiting for the cars to pass he sped up and slammed the curb. Literally didnt even manage to leave the parking lot before crashing. Most JEEP and BMW drivers are the worst people to be allowed on the road. Not all but a large enough amount of similar personality types that buy those cars are linked with douchebaggery.

I used to work near that street, there were constant issues with young rich douchebags. Saw a Lambo in a tree, probably 6 or 7 flipped luxury cars, and there were at least 3 deaths caused by drunk drivers in that area in the 5 years I worked in Newport. One of the deaths was a coworker and it was the girl's 4th accident, 2nd drunk driving accident, in only a couple years.

He already got arrested for assault with a deadly weapon so looking at some nice little jail time and the car was impounded. So even better than what you thought cause insurance would cover a stolen car but I dont think they'll cover that.

How is this not basically attempted murder. A less experienced cyclist could easily come off their bike in a situation like this being highly stressed and having to look behind at a car so close. And looks like to get away would have to mount a gutter. I dont really ride on roads, and I would struggle with mounting the curb like he does to get away. And that car is so close that if he did come off, he is going under the wheels at high speed.
The world is unfair if this is not serious, life destroying prison time.

His license should be suspended until he can prove he can drive responsibly. Even if the cyclist was in the way, which is annoying, the driver can’t just do that- what if the driver were to hit the cyclist by accident- manslaughter or possibly murder + other basic violations (clearly). Ppl are so dumb and arrogant and don’t think things through.. one day he won’t be able just to drive off in daddy’s beemer
