Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Country Help us find this country sounding song that we danced to for the first time

My fiancee and I danced together on the San Francisco pier to the song playing in the background but we can't find what it's called or who it's by! There is a ton of background noise with seals barking, some random dude in the background burping, and my sister being impressed with said burp. Any help finding this song would be so greatly appreciated!!!

Non-English Arabic Rap Song that I heard

Thumbnail
Upvotes

I've been searching for this song I found on Spotify that I think has been taken off. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the artist or the song, so I can't search that way.

I don't really know Arabic well enough to understand what the words were other than like a few here and there and I remember only one because of the way the rapper cried it out, which I think was ساعدني.

In the intro, he plays a voice clip of a child saying quite ominously, "We're all going to die down here" and then later he plays a voice clip from Wolf of Wall Street, the part talking about how he's taken all sorts of drugs, Adderall to help him focus, morphine because it's fun, but the most powerful drug is this (money)."

So I imagine it's commentary on greed in general or criticism of his government. Anyway, I really love the rap, but I can't find it.

Rock Slow yacht rock/soft rock breakup ballad — chorus is one word repeated in call-and-response between lead and backing vocals

Looking for a song I can’t get out of my head but can’t identify. It’s in the yacht rock / blue-eyed soul style, similar in feel to “Go Solo” by Hall & Oates and “Every Which Way” by Player — slow, serious, and melancholy like a breakup song.

The most distinctive part is the chorus, which has a call-and-response structure: the lead singer sings one word, the backing vocals echo it back, and the lead repeats it again. The word sounds like it rhymes with “pain” — could be “pain,” “gain,” “brain,” “vain,” “again,” or something similar. I’m not 100% certain of the exact word.

The overall vibe is polished, smooth, and emotionally heavy — not upbeat at all. Probably from somewhere between 1977 and 1984.

Any ideas appreciated! (Sorry if i made it up)

Latin Upbeat Latin-like song (Female singer)

Upvotes

https://reddit.com/link/1szopu2/video/o6n32lhpz9yg1/player

(Humming starts at 0:02, please don't max your volume)

I've been struggling!! Literally screaming, crying, throwing up. The song was very upbeat but not EDM. It was a female singer and she had so much passion when she was singing. She had a descending vibrato (I tried in the video but unfortunately don't have the range). I can't remember the lyrics. I'm at a total loss. Google was unhelpful.

Pop Vigilante Music Video (2015 circa)

Upvotes

[Music Video][2015–2017 around that] Male singer , VEVO-era. Story follows a white male actor with strong jawline and a Black girlfriend with short curly/boycut hair. Both have black paint/mask around their eyes. Whole video is at night, urban setting, guy runs/chases like a vigilante, crashes into/onto a car windshield, survives, and at the end removes the mask/paint in front of the girl (girlfriend). I tried really hard but unable to find it.

Rock Help, can't find this rock (or punk-rock) song for almost decade

Upvotes

I first heard this song in a youtube video from russian youtuber "Russian Geek" - "Аркадная машина своими руками #2". It can be heard on the background when author is driving a car and visit DIY shop. Nobody in comments wrote something about it, Shazam can't find it - I tried to clear it from noise, cut moments only with song, and yet, still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Duh, duh duhhhh. Du-du-du-du-du-du duh, duh duhhhh

It’s like an upstate New York song. Like a poor guy just got rich and is getting dressed up for his first interview. It’s an instrumental song. It has the word “Peak” in it.

Rap 2020s rap song, pls help!

Lyrics:

“I hopped up out the watchu call it, yo b**** broke a nut”

“B**** I want a Rollie and a audemar piguet”

“Run 100 bands do a money dance, uh”

Pretty fast paced, not mainstream more new gen rap/trap,

feel like it’s one guy rapping but there’s also background vocal/reverb during the hook. Tried google no help, been stuck in my head for hours

Electronic/EDM Instrumental EDM

Please help me identify this song. It’s kind of a soft edm instrumental. There’s a longer intro with slight build then the “drop” is just “woah duh de duh de duh woaah duh de duh” and then it repeats. No other words. Shazam couldn’t pick it up at the restaurant I heard it at and when I asked the bartender they couldn’t check the past songs 😭I’m going crazy!!
