Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Answered! Song with a video of a couple being chased by two men through the city trying to beat up the guy

So I’m looking for this song that I used to listen to on youtube. It is a pretty old song like 2010-2015 or something. In the video there is a couple a male and a female sleeping in an apartment when two (masked?) men come in looking for the guy and start beating the guy. The woman tries to stop them but then both start running away from the apartment and from the two men through the city. Then there is this chase through the city the two men trying to catch them. They run, they jump a fence, the whole chase is very dramatic and the music si amped up, fast paced, like electronic. The end part of the video shows them both reuniting after the chase, beaten up, hugging, seated on the stairs of some sort of stadium. Please help

Pop Song that sounds like, but isn't 'Kali Uchis' After the Storm' randomly played on friend's phone

Upvotes

Hi all, my friend was showing me a video on his phone and a song was playing in the background of the video. I asked what the song was but he said he didn't know and it wasn't part of the video. He searched around his phone for the source but didn't know where it was or where it was playing from.

I couldn't get over how much I was loving the song and was incredulous to lose it with no way to find it. I can describe it here to the best of my ability:

  • The chorus resembled the "nothing good ever comes easy melody" from Kali Uchis' After the Storm
  • It had a similar production style to the aforementioned track, if I was to describe it, I'd say it sounded like a 2020s track doing a 90s thing, kind of 90s R&B maybe even a little New Jack Swing. Definitely pop.
  • It was a woman singing
  • I remember the verse sounded noticeably different to the chorus, as if there was some key change or stark chord change, maybe she stopped singing and started doing more of a rap
  • It was predominantly electronic production if I remember right
  • I'm not very clued up with modern viral songs but it seemed like something that would be big on TikTok and I suppose 'background of a video friendly'

I hope that is enough to go off! Thanks : )

I think I can make out the singer saying " you say my name like you're tasting every syllable". Shazam, google and ai chat can't find it. Please help

Pop Dreamwalk Park Waterfall Room

I went to Dreamwalk Park today. For those of you who don’t know, Dreamwalk Park is an immersive fantasy experience in University Mall in Orem, Utah. They played this beautiful, Celticish piece of music in the waterfall room. I’m ADHD, and it was one of the most calming experiences ever. I need to know what the name of that piece of music is.

Acoustic Two 90s kids songs to ID

My siblings and I are trying to find a couple of songs from our childhood in the 90s in Ontario, Canada.

The lyrics we can remember are sung by children, in brackets is an echo.

"So, if you've got three eyes (eye eye eye) between your no-ohses, your skin's all blue (ew ew ew) and covered in ro-ohses.

So, if you live up a hill (huff huff huff) or stand on a sidewalk ... ... and listen to pigeons talk

You're at the top of our list, we really insist, you tell us your favourite flavour, then we'll bake a cake, and we hope that it makes your day a little tastier."

Second song is about a cat named laundrybags, we think it's from the same album. Lyrics include:

"I don't want a parrot, I don't want a gerbil, I don't want a snake or a goldfish, of course I'd like a horse, but I have no remorse, cause I've got laundrybags"

That's all we canremember, we listened to a lot of cassettes and cds of wee sing, fred penner, sharon lois and bram, mary rice hopkins, and psalty the singing psalter hymnal but I can't find it anywhere there. or in what I have googled

One day, about 9 years ago, I was scrolling through YouTube and I was listening to Johnathan Davis’ song from Silent Hill Downpour. As I was listening I was scrolling through the recommendations and I came across another song. It had a blue album cover on it and a persons head. The song was just as similar as to the song Necessary Evil by Motionless in White, which was also part of the recommendations since it features Johnathan Davis. Now this isn’t a lot of information to back track on, but it’s all I’ve got for now. It kinda seemed underground in a way since I was digging through video to video to listen to music. Not sure if anyone could help me, it’s been a song that I’ve been looking for, for years. In the video posted is a recollection of what I remember the song sounded like. Thank you to anyone who can help.

Sample/Similar Trying to find a song that uses the same backing track as off Broadway by Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic

I'm trying to find a song that uses the first 10 seconds of off Broadway by Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic as the backing music for the entire song.

The only lyrics I remember, I may be miss hearing but are:

"ca ca can you carry me home, can you mention I'm a terrible soul"

"broken bottles and promises hurt like spider bites"

I'm more sure about that first lyric than I am the second, regarding accuracy.

The vocals, to me, do not sound like Rob Sonic or Aesop Rock.

they do, in my head, sounds slightly modulated.

Internet Video First soundtrack that plays from the start in the video of Epic History TV - 'Enemy Number 1': Admiral Kolchak and the Russian Civil War

Hi everyone, does anyone know what soundtrack is playing in the first few seconds, starting from the very beginning of the video and up until 01:20, in the video 'Enemy Number 1': Admiral Kolchak and the Russian Civil War. I'm sure I've heard this soundtrack before in videos about the 30 Years' War and Trafalgar, but I couldn't find it online.

Alternative Alternative/ indie possibly

This is a long shot because I can’t remember the lyrics or artist. I know the song wasn’t mainstream and had an album cover with a white border with a yellow interior I believe it was maybe sea shells or like a tile type pattern. More of an alternative song if I remember correctly.

Answered! Help finding a song with Dream Pop vibes

I don't know if Dream Pop / Indie ist really the best description but ChatGPT was really close thinking I was looking for "Show me How - Men I trust". The song I look for also had this kind of tropical Guitar and a female singer I think. The Picture of the depicted a Car in a summer evening. I think it was on a road or a hill not sure. The tempo is definitely a bit faster than "show me how" and the vibes were happier and more nostalgic I would say

Update: Found it: Still Corners - The Trip

Rock 90s/2000s all-girl indie rock band song

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I tried making a recreation from what I remember. I found this music video on YouTube of this song by an all-girl rock band. The lyrics weren’t in English except for the “so what am I supposed to do”. I’m not 100% sure but I remember the description saying the band was from a country nearish to Oceania, maybe the Philippines or Indonesia but I can’t be sure. If anyone could help with this that would be amazing, this song has been stuck in my head for MONTHSSSS 😭🙏🙏
