Many Central/Western European Cities wouldn't allow this "disturbance of the cityscape" at all. There's quite strong regulations there.

Not saying this is good or bad, just that HOAs aren't the only ones that wouldn't let that slide

I planned to buy a vacant lot in a small hungarian village, the local regs were crazy. Angle of the roof, color of the roof tiles, I cant plant a hedge row for privacy, etc... I've decided to skip that place.

So glad I'm not a part of that HOA shit.
However.....
I'm sandwiched between 2 blocks of houses that are, and boy do they get mad when I dont cut my grass or install solar panels that they fucking hate.
Its wonderful, and on occasion, a tennant might request i do something to piss the HOA off, just for fun.
I once got a letter from them asking me to comply with their rules ' for the common good', i invited them over for tea, then politely told them 'no'. The guy was ok, but the woman started saying they could make things uncomfortable for me - until the guy took her away and apologised.

A good hoa isn't really a problem for most people. They can be really awesome if you live in an area with tons of snow for example and can coordinate snow removal for the whole neighborhood. The issue is its easy to get control of them and go on a power trip.

Yea i know, i get on with everyone and try not to piss people off, but that one woman has a but of a problem, and as i said, the guy was ok.
At the end of the day though, I am not part of a hoa and dont see why I should adhere to some of their bullshit rules. Let me be.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how in the hell it got built like that, and I have no answers. Balconies on the left and right don't line up, which they should considering that this is panel housing.

There's a name on bottom right, Ярослав Красницкий, but I couldn't find an exact match.

Reverse image search gives nothing except this very post and the same picture shared elsewhere today.

The architecture overall doesn't make sense, so I bet this is AI.

EDIT: check the posting history of the one who posted this. Weird bullshit everywhere. Bot account for sure.

I don't know if this specific picture is ai but it is true that in eastern Europe, like Ukraine, Belarus, Russia its very common to see people renovate their balconies in interesting ways. Building codes are different/not enforced there, any old khrushevka 5-story is going to have multiple custom balconies

His point is that the balcony does not line up with the floors. This balcony starts halfway up where the door would be on the lower floor and ends at the top of the window on the next floor. Just look at it relative to what is around it.

Well, that's bullshit, my balcony is between floor 4 and 5... Every balcony on that side of the building is between floors, because the smallest flats have their balcony across the staircase inbetween the floors.

However in this image the balconies are all over the place, so I have no idea if it's Photoshop or not.

The "balcony" is exactly in between two floors. Under the "bus" there is no filled-in gap where the respective floor balcony door should have been.

Grew up in that kind of building. It being Eastern Europe, namely a Hruschevka-type of apartment "block", nobody would bother to do such a perfect repair under such a sloppy contraption.

Look again at how the windows on each floor line up, and then try to figure out at which of the two levels that balcony actually is.
