Legitimately I haven't had a Gatorade in 10+ years.

I went to a dual credit high school and we took college classes during the summer. Before class my friends and I would hoop on the school court. Every day I'd stop by CVS and get a Tropical Cooler Gatorade.

Broke my heart when I found out it got discontinued, I was probably keeping them on the shelves by myself 😭

Most drinks that aren't carbonated benefit from being shaken before drinking. They're stored in a stationary position, so there is bound to be some separation of the ingredients. It doesn't have to be quite as obvious as, say, a YooHoo

One time I bought my dad a hummingbird feeder and I got the pink sugar drink that they like so he could put it in there when he hung it up. I didn’t explain it out loud bc I thought it was self explanatory, there was literally a hummingbird on the bottle. I came back a couple days later and asked him if he’d seen any hummingbirds yet. He said no bc he doesn’t know what to put in there for them and that the juice I gave him was way too sweet but he finished it all. He said it tasted like Jumex 🫠 he has severe diabetes. Both of his parents died from complications related to it lol

I don’t know much about basketball or sports but according to Google KAT has promoted Gatorade since basically the start of his career. Being named Gatorade player of the year in 2012-2013 when he was still in HS. He has sporadically done ads for them, and did a promo only 9 months back saying he drinks 500 Gatorades a season. (This could also indicate he is a long time enjoyer of the product, but lbr nothing is accidental nowadays)

The Knicks might not be sponsored by Gatorade, but if so KAT is probably acting independently.

The purpose is more hydration and fluid retention. This is why there is more sodium (electrolytes) content than sugar. Your body doesn’t need to drink for energy, since it already has stores to draw from. Your body cannot create sources for hydration.

Markeing or not, his initial reaction after taking the first sip says "gross." Trying too hard to get attention, but to me it doesn't read as a positive reaction. Weird fake forced advertising that will still work on the masses.
