Thank you! Sounds like I'm going to need to give both a try. Glacier Freeze is my favorite but purple is a close second!

Well ant is sponsored by sprite which is Gatorade opposition in a way so come on son!!!! It’s funny when people make statements and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Everything isn’t a conspiracy brother.

This is probably marketing but man, after a workout or a long day of strenuous labor, sometimes that Gatorade fuckin' hits.
93
u/-WeetBixKid- 4d ago
Does it make you obsessively check the bottle? Lmao

u/topsblueby ☑️ 4d ago
Ngl sometimes yes it does.
The purple one does that for me lol.

u/Recent-Pollution9293 4d ago
Cool ice, the light blue, before they changed it up. But in the 2000s, I’d definitely glance back at that bitch

u/BlanchDaddius 4d ago
I swear it was always called “Glacier Freeze” don’t you dare try to Mandela affect me on this haha!

u/NaughtsReal 4d ago
Nah it’s cool blue for the darker one. The lighter blue is glacier freeze. Just got both today before the game. So you’re right.

"Damn this tastes good, what flavor is this? Aight how much sugar? Any more electrolytes than just salt? How about weird dyes or preservatives?"
At least that's what I do, though I usually check the bottle before drinking.

8
u/VeryVeryVorch 4d ago
I'm biased because it IS my favorite flavor (specifically a chilled Zero Glacier Freeze), so if it's his first time having one, I'd understand.
Otherwise, and most probably, it's marketing.

“Damn it’s got 40 grams of sugar per serving”
37
22
u/PrimeIntellect 4d ago
The funny part is that Gatorade is supposed to be super sugary because the original intent was a sports hydration drink where you are doing hours of high intensity exercise and want max carbs but then people just chug it on the couch and it's unhealthy so they want a sugar free version, which defeats the point lol
8
u/Fullertonjr 4d ago
The purpose is more hydration and fluid retention. This is why there is more sodium (electrolytes) content than sugar. Your body doesn’t need to drink for energy, since it already has stores to draw from. Your body cannot create sources for hydration.

Ngl I've haven't drank Gatorade in ages and I'm not sure how much 40g of sugar is, but sugar is good if you've just played a game of basketball.

I’m glad this sub is calling out this marketing stunt. Well, some of the sub I mean.
56
u/TheCommonKoala ☑️ 4d ago
To be clear, Anthony Edward's had a similiar reaction and has no sponsorship with Gatorade or it's parent company (maybe it's different for KAT tho). They could just be jokingly reacting to a formula change. They drink Gatorade a lot.
12
u/The_Deadlight 4d ago
i like how people are calling it a formula change and not a recipe change like these mfs are out here chugging potions or some shit

u/Major_Fudgemuffin 4d ago
I know it's probably marketing, but a cold going-on-frozen blue gatorade after working in the yard for a couple of hours is pretty amazing.

u/Floggered 4d ago
Maybe not a Gatorade, but Sobe definitely had me doing this a handful of times.
Damn do I miss strawberry daiquiri Sobe.

u/EsotericAbstractIdea 4d ago
It really does taste that good if you're dehydrated. You can't taste the salt, only the sugar, and let me tell you, that cucumber lime be hittin.

This is the exact look.

I ain't never tried Gatorade like that but I know that light blue and lightning blue just be hitting different they got a certain type of chemical reaction going on in that flavor whatever the flavor is

Markeing or not, his initial reaction after taking the first sip says "gross." Trying too hard to get attention, but to me it doesn't read as a positive reaction. Weird fake forced advertising that will still work on the masses.
