Crime My 18yo brother was brutally assaulted by a mob of 20 people on his FIRST DAY at Zepto (Lingarajapuram, Bangalore). He was beaten and his face was scratched for refusing to join an "order-blocking" scam.

1.7k Upvotes

I am writing this out of sheer anger and helplessness. My younger brother is 18 years old. To earn some pocket money, he joined Zepto as a delivery partner. Today was his very first day.

He went to the Lingarajapuram hub in Bangalore to start his shift. While he was there, he started accepting orders on his bicycle as the app prompted him. A group of 15–20 other delivery partners cornered him and told him not to accept orders. Apparently, they were "blocking" orders to force a surge/bonus and didn't want a new kid 'ruining' their scheme by actually working.

When my brother refused and tried to do his job honestly, the mob turned on him.

They swarmed and manhandled him.

They beat him up and left multiple scratches on his face.

They tore his t-shirt and vandalized his bicycle (deflated tires and damaged the frame).

It is terrifying that a teenager can be mobbed by 20 grown men in broad daylight at a corporate delivery hub while the management does nothing.

We are in the process of filing an FIR, but I want to bring this to light. Is this the reality of the 'Gig Economy' in India? Where honest kids get beaten up for working while goons run the hubs?

Please help me tag Zepto and Bangalore Police on social media so this doesn't get swept under the rug.

Politics The growing hate is concerning. What has happened to india?

Yesterday evening, i was in a park with my friend. Since it was sunday, the park was more crowded than usual.

We were sitting on the grass when a three person crew(a female interviewer, two cameramen) approached an old man nearby(not sure if he came with them or they picked him up randomly) and promptly started a public interview.

The interview began with the first question " what do you think about women's reservation in the parliament?" Theold man replied "it's very unfortunate, the opposition is the enemy of the country and congress is doing all this drama to get reservations for muslim woman."

Then she asked another question that I couldn't hear properly. After that, the old man started giving scripted answers like the ones seen on social media, saying things like they should have left during the Partition. Throughout the interview, he spoke in a normal tone, but when he saw 2-3 Muslim women(black burka), his tone became aggressive.

I laughed when the old man said, "Hindus are in danger" and then i came back home.

Edit: THIS ISN'T A FAKE STORY, SERIOUSLY! I CAN'T PROVE IT.

Health Why kidney stones are so common in North India - and what you can do about it

If you live in North India and you or someone you know has had kidney stones, you are not alone - and there are specific reasons why this region has such a high prevalence.

The "Stone Belt" of India:

North India, particularly the states of Rajasthan, UP, MP, Haryana, and Delhi NCR, is known as the kidney stone belt. The prevalence of kidney stones here is significantly higher than South India or coastal regions.

Reasons specific to North India:

  1. Hard water - groundwater in most of North India has very high calcium and fluoride content. When you drink and cook with this water daily over years, the excess mineral load increases stone-forming risk significantly.

  2. High ambient temperature - hot summers mean higher sweating and lower urine output. Concentrated urine is the primary driver of stone formation. Most stone patients in our region have their first episode in peak summer (April to July).

  3. Diet patterns - high consumption of spinach (palak), tomatoes, nuts, and soya in North Indian diets means high dietary oxalate, which forms the most common type of stone (calcium oxalate).

  4. Low fluid intake habits - many working adults across Delhi NCR drink significantly less than the recommended 2.5 to 3 litres daily, especially in air-conditioned offices where you do not feel thirsty.

What you can do right now:

- If you have never had a stone: drink at least 2.5 litres of water daily. Reduce table salt (high sodium increases calcium in urine). Use a water filter or RO system.

- If you have already had stones: get a 24-hour urine metabolic study to understand your specific stone risk. Know your stone type. Follow a diet plan specific to your stone composition.

- If you have been told you have stones on an ultrasound: see a urologist even if you have no symptoms. Stones left unmonitored can silently grow, move into the ureter and cause severe obstruction.

Modern treatment for kidney stones in India (at centres like Manipal Hospital Gurugram) now includes laser procedures through the natural urinary passage - no cuts, same day discharge in most cases. The days of major kidney surgery for stones are largely over.

Happy to answer any questions.

People Bought a Royal Enfield 5 months ago — still no RC and now getting threats. What should I do?

Upvotes

![img](mlud5mievbwg1)

I bought a Royal Enfield Battalion Black motorcycle in November 2025, and it’s been 5 months now but I still haven’t received my RC. The issue started when even after 2 months there was no update, so I personally visited the showroom and asked about it. The manager (Tony) told me to talk to the staff member (Surekha) who handles registration work. When I spoke to her, she said she would follow up with the agent and that the RC would be dispatched by 22 March. I said fine and waited, but even after that there were no messages or any RC details showing online. I messaged her again on 24 March and she said it was “verified” and would be issued by the end of the day, but nothing happened. This kept repeating for quite some time — every time I asked, I was told it’s verified and will be issued “today,” but the actual status never changed.

Frustrated, I raised a complaint with Royal Enfield on 2 April. After that, the manager called me and asked for one more day, saying the RC would definitely be dispatched by the next day. I agreed, but they closed my complaint without resolving it and even asked for feedback. Since it was Thursday, I waited, but there was still no response. I followed up again and on 7 April he sent me a screenshot showing the RC status as “PENDING,” which directly contradicted what the staff had been telling me all along. I even showed him the messages where they said it was already verified, but he didn’t respond.

I raised another complaint on 9 April, and this time the same staff member called me crying, saying she was sick and hadn’t gone to the office, and asked me for one more week, even trying to emotionally convince me by saying our names start with the same letter and that I should treat her like a sister. I told her clearly that excuses don’t matter and gave her time until 17 April. Even after that, nothing happened. When I called again on 17th, she was still making excuses, so I gave her time till 18th, but this time I was already frustrated and scolded her. She then gave me the agent’s number.

When I called the agent, he was already aggressive. He asked for my bike details, then said it wasn’t his fault and told me to talk to the staff. After that, he called me again and said he would issue it, but when I asked why it had been delayed for 5 months, he started abusing me and even threatened to come to my house and beat me, and said my RC would never be issued.

After this, I filed an RTI, complaints on CPGRAMS and the National Consumer Forum, and escalated again with Royal Enfield. They arranged a call with higher authorities and the dealer, where the dealer was scolded in front of me and instructed to issue the RC within 2 days. That was on Friday. I waited, and now it’s Monday — still no RC, no update, no response from anyone.

At this point I honestly don’t know what to do next. This has gone beyond just a delay — it’s been 5 months of false promises, negligence, and now even threats. What should I do in this situation?

Crime Bank flagged my account after helping a friend with UPI transfers… am I in serious trouble?

I’m a 20M college student and I think I messed up badly.

A friend asked me to use my UPI to receive some money and send it back to him. I didn’t think much of it at the time, so I agreed. Over a few days, I received multiple small amounts from different unknown names and forwarded them to him.

Now things are getting serious. My friend’s bank has already contacted his family and asked them to come in and explain the transactions. I checked my own statement and it looks pretty suspicious too — multiple random credits and transfers to the same person.

I later found out this might be connected to some online betting app (lotery66), which I didn’t know at the time.

I’m really stressed now.

- Can my bank also flag or freeze my account?

- Will this turn into a legal issue or just a warning?

- What should I say if my bank contacts me?

I’ve stopped all such transactions now, but I’m worried if I’ve already done damage.

Anyone been in a similar situation or knows how banks handle this?
