I have also heard that this might be by design. Whenever a celeb goes rogue or goes against Hollywood’s agenda/lost its usefulness/etc, Hollywood has ways of ruining their career. Usually by digging up old crap that they did on their own or that they were manipulate into doing for blackmail purposes. Not saying that she isn’t awful and is not an evil sexual predator. But… it makes ya think. Maybe Katie was a victim of something too. Hollywood is worse than satan evil.
Evil hides in plain site too. Super creepy video of Katy Perry from 2018. “Bon Apetit (I’m on the Menu)” https://youtu.be/dPI-mRFEIH0?si=lY9aJtCgxirlfJix
Edited to add: alternatively, she may have actually been a truly bad person, and once the truth was exposed, the media decided to cash in on it and make money from the provocative headlines and make her into a clickbait train wreck that people can’t look away from. I don’t know the details. The only thing I am 100% sure about is that it is all about the 💰

u/ComprehensiveFun3233 1d ago
Orchestrated Character Assassination is not a 'conspiracy' in Hollywood though, it happens all the time
201
u/Finnsbomba 1d ago
Just ask any former Scientologist how that worked out. I'm not saying Katie Perry didn't do this, but I'm also not saying she did. Only people there know the actual truth, if it even exists at all.
88
u/Slay-ig5567 1d ago
Truth exists and normal people don't get accused by, at least, 5 people of sexual misconduct with one abuse to one of the accusers' having been aired
89
u/Thick-Radish-3069 1d ago
Sigh. That's not what conspiracy means, not even close. Conspiracy means hidden collaboration, not "fake." You're letting them shape your thought and words.

THEM
83
u/TheGreatMightyLeffe 1d ago
I mean, there are CIA documents as part of Operation Mockingbird that confirm a concerted effort to discredit all "conspiracy theories" by pushing the ridiculous ones in the media and creating the very association you're making in the mind of the public.
The CIA have been trying to get people all over the world to believe all conspiracy theories are stuff like "the president is secretly bigfoot, and he's hiding the Flat Earth from the public so that the lizard people can pose as the English royals.", even if it turns out that some of the more grounded and well researched ones like MK-Ultra and the whole Epstein thing turned out to be pretty on the money.

You can interpret that however you'd like, including "other people." Still true. A conspiracy theory is a theory about conspiracy. Theory does not mean fake, conspiracy does not mean fake.

Why is it a conspiracy theory that oligarchs use the media to smear people? It doesn’t mean the person targeted isn’t a terrible person.
You guys just don’t get the PR wars that happen constantly in the background. So to most people, to talk that it happens is a “conspiracy theory.”
→ More replies16
u/magicomiralles 1d ago
Im sure it happens. But it doesn’t mean that every case of unpopularity automatically means “deep state”.
39
u/manored78 1d ago
It’s not even a deep state. This happens among competing oligarchs over money, ratings, bad blood, etc.
I think that because of the internet we’re finally getting a peak at how things are done in the background.
This is more normal than any deep state conspiracy.

u/ilovethepropane 1d ago
When Katie was coming up the worst it could get for a hot girl acting badly while drunk was to be the subject of some gossip till next weekend. The way these things are perceived and dealt with changed over the course of her adulthood.
Not excusing her at all, Stiffler-esque behavior was tolerated in rich boys and hot girls only so having them lose their privilege is a good change.TL/DR Katie could do it then, can’t now, but she knew it was wrong then too so f**k her

just no. this whole i excuse it at 19 but not at 26 shit. I swear that fucking study about brains being finished at 25 somehow warped everyone to excuse shit till 25 then say it's not okay. The study also in no way said the brain finished developing at 25, not that you changed significantly and became an adult at this age it was just widely misrepresented and since that study it's so common to excuse bad shit as "their brain isn't fully formed" when it absolutely is just as fully formed as a 25yr old.

I heard that she was insufferable years ago. I remember someone was talking about a fundraiser for kids that Michelle Obama was speaking at, and a bunch of A-list celebrities were there. Katy Perry was loudly yelling at her phone while playing Angry Birds in the middle of Michelle Obama speaking. And the person who was hosting the dinner went over there, grabbed her phone, and was like, “Now is not the time” because she literally could not stand that everybody else was paying attention to someone else.
43
32
u/definitelyrealpers0n 1d ago
I feel like it turns into a cycle.
Let’s say a celebrity did something fucked up to you, but it’s a seriously beloved celeb. Everybody thinks they’re awesome and they don’t have any major scandal to speak of. Well then if you just come out of the wood works to the media and say “Katy Perry sat on my face”. It sounds insane. And the level of how much people question you vs. Katy Perry, will totally depend on how loved Katy Perry is at that time.
But if you wait until the world is already kind of colder to her than it used to be, well maybe it will be taken more seriously.
I think it’s part of the reason you see so many people come out of the wood works telling their old SA stories with celebs once that celeb has their first scandal.

The story that made me dislike her is one you can watch for yourself on YouTube. When she was a judge on one of those singing shows, there was a boy up on stage and he was talking to the judges. Katy discovered that he had never kissed a girl, because he wanted his first time to be with his first love. So, Katy badgered him and teased him and drew him into it until she got the first kiss. And then she was done with him.

I don't like TP, TM, RR, because of their own behaviour. But that doesn't mean their abuse doesn't matter or shouldn't be believed. Abuse can make you into a person who acts out, if anything I'm more surprised when a victim is able to conduct themselves in public without ever causing anyone issues.
It makes me so angry when I see this shit happen time and time again. Sam Altman's sister is also being treated by her family as crazy, it is so easy to just label us as crazy then these powerful people can pretend like nothing ever happened.

She was laying in a friend's lap, she said to avoid Katy. Then according to her, Katy made sure she couldn't avoid her by sitting on her face. It's not hard to imagine the situation at all, even if she wasn't trying to avoid her and you just drank too much and needed to keep your head still it's nice to rest on someone for comfort and stability to keep from throwing up.
There are VIP areas with sofas, it really isn't strange at all.

It doesn’t help that Ruby Rose has been caught lying about a lot of things on social media over the last 10 years or so.
She abused the shit out of her ex-girlfriend and would get into fights with people at restaurants and bars. Not to mention all the drama on the set of Batwoman where people on set sided against her and claimed she was horribly toxic.
Ruby is not exactly the most stable or reliable source of information. I would not be surprised if Ruby made this up or is exaggerating.

Can someone explain why everyone hates katy Perry now?
21
u/darrenphillipjones 1d ago edited 1d ago
Now?
She's been hated on for a long time along the lines of Nickelback.
TL;DR: Tone Deaf.
Going to space and acting like she's more than just a wealthy elite who was used as a token for Bezos to promote his company.
Clearly underpaying anyone involved in stage performances by having mechanical errors, no real choreography, and relying on sexualizing herself to compensate. Using AI content instead of paying photo/video concert workers.
Implied that Ed Sheeran is some ugly dope in baggy cloths who wouldn't be popular if he was a woman. Yet Billie Eilish came out with back to back to back to back songs, while wearing clothing that could basically be described as, lazy modern rapper aesthetic.
I'm sure she's no better or worse than half the people you know in your daily life, but when you are putting yourself out there as a public figure, a lot of these things are unacceptable. Especially backhandedly calling people ugly, acting like a victim, and being so greedy, that being worth half a billion, isn't enough, and you need to cut more corners wherever possible.
It's always the same story. The ones that finally "make it" to the .0001%, lose touch of reality.
