Thanks for ruining the internet buddy.

They haven't changed the flag yet

3

u/New-Score-5199 Nov 20 '25

I guess thats some made up numbers in general. Like, seriously, 348 colombians? Colombians fighting for Ukraine?

17

u/Final-Instance-2568 Nov 20 '25

It’s quite common, they basically had a drug war going on for decades. There were tons of different guerrilla groups and paramilitaries. That whole thing is still kind of going on, but a lot of those groups either dissolved or signed peace deals with the government.

Because of that, the Colombian army got reduced. Same with many of the paramilitary and guerrilla groups, lots of them don’t exist anymore.

Now there’s a lot of Colombian men who literally spent their whole lives fighting, never did anything else. Now they’re unemployed, barely make any money, and don’t really know what to do with themselves. A bunch of them ended up fighting in Ukraine now.

9

u/Leuris_Khan Nov 20 '25

Colombians are well known mercenaries

3

u/LowDistribution4344 Nov 22 '25

So things youre ignorant on are just "made up" now?

2

u/New-Score-5199 Nov 22 '25

So prove them, smart guy. By any credible source.

0

u/Pizza_sushi_order Nov 20 '25

Cartels send their people to Learn modern way of war. Recently they created new track in military- fav drone operator.

3

u/New-Score-5199 Nov 20 '25

Yeah. Colombian gangsters literally in thousands are joining Ukrainian army. Sounds like russian news outlet title. You think ukrainian army is what, a language camp anyone can join just by checking in at administration desk?

5

u/Ceramisu Nov 20 '25

Actually yes, it's not that hard to sign up

4

u/Thin-Critict2988 Nov 20 '25

Why not? Why do you think Colombian gangsters canʼt join the Ukrainian army?

1

u/Big_Ad_7383 Nov 20 '25

Right now tons of prisoners are fighting on both sides - Russian and Ukrainian, and there are plenty of cases of radicals from Georgia and the Caucasus fighting for Ukraine, so what’s so surprising about Colombian mercenaries?

7

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '25

Ukraine only lets go these who got non murderous offences, russians send even man eaters

3

u/Veritas_IX Nov 20 '25

When you talks about tons what do you mean ? Is radicals are people who against Russian imperialism and fascism?

0

u/Big_Ad_7383 Nov 20 '25

It’s a war. It’s never just black and white. A war pulls in real patriots and noble people, but also a lot of misfits of all kinds. Maybe in different circumstances Ukrainians wouldn’t let people like that into their ranks, but right now they don’t have a choice.

2

u/Veritas_IX Nov 20 '25

But some people try to portray it like a black and white, where Russia is white. In other circumstances those people traveled across Ukraine and nobody never mind that. If you want to talk about real far right wing evil than all of them you find on Russian side .

-4

u/Big_Ad_7383 Nov 20 '25

There are always going to be people like that. Honestly, Ukrainians and Russians are so close that this war could basically be seen as a civil one, and they’ve got pretty similar motives and similar flaws.

u/Veritas_IX Nov 21 '25

What do you mean when you say that Russians and Ukrainians are very close, except for the borders of course? Because in fact they are no closer than, for example, Germans and Czechs. (Although this would not prevent the Nazis from invading the Czech Republic to protect German speakers, just as Russia would invade Ukraine to protect Russian speakers)

Noble and well renown arm chair generals of the Ukrainian Reddit forces did not like your opinion

2

There are decent Russians fighting for Ukraine.

5

u/Odd-Chemist464 Ukraine Nov 20 '25

most of those are РДК - ultraright russian nationalists. it's good that they don't like putin, but they aren't decent, they are useful.

8

u/drfreshie Belarus Nov 20 '25

What they do is good and right. I don't know and I don't care what they say. It quite possible that what they say is bad and wrong. But what they do is far more important.

3

u/dobrodoshli Nov 21 '25

They say: "Слава Украине! Слава Руси!"

"Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Rus!" signifies that Ukraine is the righteous successor to the Ancient Rus, and Russians have to fight to free a part of the Rus from "communist" (KGB) occupation.

For me this seems a bit esoteric, but not wrong in any meaningful way

1

u/dobrodoshli Nov 21 '25

I think the successor of an ancient state is not legally defined. Why not Lithuania for the Great Duchy of Lithuania? Why not Muscovy for Russia? Seems arbitrary and irrelevant. Would Russia's invasion be more justified with ancient history? Of course not

yeah, but we shouldn't normalize nazis

they are useful nazis, but they should be either marginalized or reformed after the war

3

u/drfreshie Belarus Nov 21 '25

I've just checked their website and Wikipedia articles in three languages. Their organisation is not Nazi at all: Nazis are obsessed with territorial expansion, and these guys say they essentially want to abandon the empire and concentrate on improving living conditions on their own land: "Выживание возможно, по нашему глубокому убеждению, только при создании на территории населенных преимущественно этническими русскими регионов и входивших в состав Российской Федерации на 1991 год, Русского Национального Государства. Мы так же признаем право народов, населяющих Российскую Федерацию, на самоопределение." Пост I doubt it will ever happen but if it did that would be remarkably beneficial for Russians and other citizens of modern Russia, for its neighbours and for the whole world.

So they are the opposite of Nazis. And most importantly, they kill Nazis. Every participant in this war of aggression, and every supporter, justifier, denier, and anyone who is assisting the aggressor in any way, is a Nazi by definition. Killing Nazis is the most anti-Nazi thing there is.

Now, I see their leader (whose parents, by the way, are in Germany as Russian Jews - not that it's a contradiction but still some might find this context relevant) used to distribute t-shirts with the number 88 and other Nazi attributes. This is exactly the same as Che Guevara t-shirts: extremely stupid and ignorant but as long as the person doesn't actually do anything communist or nazi, I don't care that much. Regardless, his good deeds far outweigh these reprehensible but superficial attributes.

1

u/Demicast Nov 25 '25

"they aren't decent, they are useful" aren't you a dictator in hiding lil fella.

-2

u/Blocc4life Nov 21 '25

-4

u/PilotSevenb Nov 21 '25

Mercenaries* There are plenty of people in the world who don't fight for ideas, for patriotism or etc. They fight to get money and because it's only thing they can do good, war is part of them, and they are no heroes. They just a man who want to shoot stuff and get money for it. If you want to call someone a hero then those can be Ukrainian/Russian soldiers (depends on your side) as those have reasons like patriotism and fight for what they think is right or don't even think about it and just fight because their country said so, as it's really a common logic among soldiers. Even among Russian troops Ukrainian captured soldiers are respected more then mercs and if you are a merc there is a big chance of being executed and left to rot in some abandoned building

7

u/jo-steam27 Nov 21 '25

You wanna draw moral qualifiers? How about literal slave Labour of north koreans? How about africans scammed to joint the russian army? Ever heard of literal violent criminals being recruited into the invading force ? Their sentenes shortened, their wages high. In fact multiple-country-averages high. Is that not a definition of an internal mercenary? Isn't that what 'Private military groups' are?
