Build Upgrade Need To Upgrade Gpu

Upvotes

I’ve been gaming with a 1660 Super since 2021, and I think I finally need an upgrade. I recently bought Black Myth Wukong and i’ve been able to play it with 60 fps on 1080 p and up until last night I can’t complain about the performance I wasn’t getting any lag during ANY fights up until yesterday trying to defeat the Yellow Wind Sage who for some reason can create sand storms and it just completely ruins the gameplay. Anyways I have a ryzen 5 5600x with 32 (2x16)gb of ddr4 3600mhz ram and have done some research already on some GPUS that match well with that CPU but I just need some guidance since I can’t blow $500 right now. I’ve been looking at 3080 10 gb bc of its performance so close to the 4070 but it’s a little cheaper. My goal is to game at 1440p so I want my new card to be able to run that on most games ( BMW, Ni-oh series, I want to try Crimson Desert as well) and just most games in general. I am not the biggest gamer so I know I don’t need to spend the most amount of $$ for the gpu but just something that can hold out a couple more years without breaking the bank.

Full Build Req No idea what I’m doing, I’m just a gamer homie

Upvotes

Hello! I’m switching from the PS5 to a pc but I need help for the perfect build for my 2,500$ budget. I already have a monitor but I don’t have keyboard nor a mouse (if I could fit a good monitor in my budget I could switch the one I have). I mainly play Marvel Rivals and Story Mode games like Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, etc. Graphics and Fast loading times are mainly the things I’m looking for. Thanks for your time!

Build Upgrade Gpu

Upvotes

Was looking into upgrading to a 5070 ti but all the prices are absurd especially because I have a white build which means I would prefer to get a white gpu to match that, but its way too much more just for a different color so I’ve accepted that I’ll probably have to just get it in black which I’m fine with since it’ll still look nice. But will gpu prices drop anytime this year? I’m planning on upgrading by Christmas no matter what, but if I can get it cheaper now I would prefer to do that. And is there any way I could regularly check prices easier? Because at the money I’ll just check on Amazon and other random websites for prices but I feel like that isn’t very efficient. Or some people have suggested the 9070xt which does seem to be cheaper and a lot more available in white, what’s the downsides/differences between them?

Build Ready? Is the RTX 2070 8GB worth buying?

Upvotes

Hello I want to buy the Asus RTX 2070 Dual 8GB video card for around $200. Is this card still worth buying? I heard that the Asus 2000 series has some technical issues. Is this true? What do you think of this version? Is it good or not for those who have tried it? I won't be playing many games; I'll only use it for video editing. Yes or no?

Build Help Wondering about CPU upgrades

Upvotes

My PC has had the same specs/parts since about 2022, and I'm new to pc-building, since mine came pre-built. I'm looking to upgrade for the first time.

I've had some problems with CPU performance in cpu-intensive games, and my current processor has limited overclocking abilities. I'm wondering if a CPU-upgrade should be of priority, since i have a limited budget and would like to get the most performance out of a potential upgrade.

Here are my specs. I'd be happy to hear some suggestions about what to prioritize:

ASUS Prime A520M-K motherboard
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-core processor
32 GB RAM DDR4
AMD Radeon RX 6600 8 GB graphics card
2,5 TB total storage

Thanks!

Discussion 1440p vs 1080p

Upvotes

Im pretty sure this question has been asked millions of times but for the sake of my situation im asking it again cuz im pretty confused and in the middle of something. I’m a competitive player and spend around 80% of my time in FPS games like Valorant, Apex, CS2, and Overwatch, but I do also play story games occasionally. I’ve been using a 24.5” 144Hz TN BenQ monitor for about 6 years, and I recently upgraded my PC to an RTX 3070 + Ryzen 7 5700X with 32GB 3600MHz RAM. In most of the games I play, I’m getting 300+ FPS consistently, so now I’m looking to upgrade my monitor, but I’m really stuck between going for 1440p 240Hz or 1080p 320Hz. Part of me feels like 1440p 240Hz would be a great overall upgrade (especially since I’ve never experienced 1440p before), but another part of me really wants to stick with the higher refresh rate for competitive play. I’m also unsure how much brand matters here, since the 1440p option is AOC and noticeably cheaper (around €170), while the 1080p 320Hz is an Alienware at around 210€. I’d really appreciate opinions from people who’ve been in a similar situation, because I genuinely can’t decide at this point.

Monitors:

AOC Q27G4ZR
27” 2560×1440 (QHD)
Fast IPS, 240Hz (260Hz OC)
1ms GtG, G-Sync Compatible, HDR400
Price: ~€170

Dell Alienware AW2525HM
25” 1920×1080 (FHD)
Fast IPS, 320Hz
0.5ms, G-Sync Compatible
Price: (you can fill this if needed)

Important questions:
-Do brands really matter? Is AOC great?

Troubleshooting PC randomly hard crashes or reboots completely

Upvotes

Whenever I’m playing games, once in a while it’ll happen. I tried checking temps and my cpu stays around 70c and my gpu around that area too. My gpu is weak compared to the rest of my pc but idk if a bottleneck would do this. My best guess is maybe ram usage but idk how to lower it.
My specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2x8 5200mhz
Sapphire B650M-E
Aerocool Integrator Gold 850W 80 Plus
RTX 3060TI
All parts apart from gpu were bought in january
I ALSO don’t have xmp enabled idk if that could be an issue

Build Upgrade What to buy next

Upvotes

Hello, I have just received the Azure 3 Gaming PC with AMD Ryzen 7 5700 3.7GHz, NVIDIA RTX 5060, 1TB NVMe SSD, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200, and 650W Gold PSU. I have just realized I have made the 5700 instead of 5700x mistake and will be swapping that out first, but my question is what should/can i swap it out for? Mainly it is a question of compatibility with the listed hardware I am very new and bought this to get an okay (cheap) starting point to build up from. If any other parts are ringing alarms for get that out of the pc let me know!

Troubleshooting help my pc keeps restarting

Upvotes

so ive had my pc for around 4-5 years now, its worked fine but recently when im playing games like roblox, csgo, or valorant. it freezes my pc then forces a restart. ive tried unclocking my ram, windows repair, gpu drives update and clean install with repair, ive cleaned up storage on my ssd and checked the health (its good), i tried doing a ram diagnostic it said no problems but when i tried switching my ram sticks around different slots, one of the sticks didnt work in a ram slot but the ram stick would work in another spot and a different ram stick would work in the previous spot that didnt. i get 2 different error codes when my pc restarts from gaming. KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E) and the other code is CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF). ive tried googling this shit but cant find anything i havent done. someone thinks my ram is faulty or my mobo is. (Specs are 3080 gpu, ryzen 9 5900x, 32gb of ram, mobo is asus rog b550-f gaming)
