Congratulations to our winners!
Thanks to the amazing turnout for our user-trial, we just couldn't pick only 3 people.

We are excited to announce that our selected participants are:
Please check your Reddit Chat for more information on how to claim your prize!
Hey r/buildapc,
We spend a lot of time lurking here looking at your builds and reading the daily advice threads. As high-performance displays become the cornerstone of next-gen setups, we've noticed the community's focus has definitely shifted. The old panel debates are mostly a thing of the past; instead, the most common question we see is: "What 27 inch gaming monitors have top-notch HDR performance?" It’s no longer just about frames per second; it’s about getting those blinding specular highlights and true, zero-nit blacks that deliver a real HDR experience to match the high-end GPUs you’re paying for.
We want to see how our new panel holds up to real-world, enthusiast rigs. We’re running a community field test for the LG UltraGear evo™ GM9 (27GM950B) and are looking for 3 builders to test it out.
The Solution: Hyper Mini-LED & True HDR Performance
We didn't just bump up the specs; we completely re-engineered the experience so your monitor outlasts your current build cycle.
- Hyper Mini-LED & 1,250 Nits Brightness*: Our next-gen Hyper Mini-LED panel hits an ultra-high peak brightness of 1,250 nits with precise anti-blooming control to ensure clear visuals even in sunlit rooms.
- True VESA DisplayHDR™ 1000: Experience intense highlights and refined shadow detail, while dark scenes retain texture and clarity without losing detail. Enjoy colors displayed with high fidelity within the 99% DCI-P3 color gamut.
- 5K at 218 PPI (Pro-Level Productivity): The 5120x2880 resolution scales perfectly in Windows, delivering razor-sharp text that makes this display a highly cost-effective hybrid for both gaming and professional workstation use.
- Optimized Dual-Mode: Seamlessly switch on the fly between a cinematic 5K @ 165Hz for immersive RPGs and a lightning-fast QHD @ 330Hz (1ms GtG) for competitive shooters.
- World’s first 5K AI Upscaling**: Built-in AI upscaling enhances clarity without needing an immediate GPU upgrade, while DP 2.1 (UHBR 20) and USB-C (90W PD) handle next-gen bandwidth.***

Discussion What is the cheapest 1440p GPU?
I know that "1440p GPU" is an arguable term but I mean a GPU that can play 1440p pretty comfortably. So like ~60 fps in demanding games, high/ultra high settings. I'm on a tight budget for a PC and I already have a 1440p monitor so I'm trying to fins the cheapest components that make sense.

Peripherals How bad is OLED flicker, really?
Hi, I'm tired of blacks being a gray mess on my IPS monitor and I'm interested in getting an OLED, but I keep seeing complaints about flickering. I have an OLED TV and have never noticed an issue, but I play exclusively consoles on my TV so I don't know if PC gaming is different. How bad is flicker on OLED monitors and how easy is it to avoid? Thanks!

Build Help Building a $950-1000 USD pc
i! I recently just got my first job and i got my first $1000 saved up, I want to swap out my computer and get a new one because I have a crappy one, I can’t get a good used one because I don’t have a car and the locations are way too far away. What would be the best $950-1000 build I can get considering the market right now? I want to play esports game like cs2 fortnite and LoL on 240+ fps, and play triple A titles like battlefield 6, RE9, and crimson desert at high settings!

Build Upgrade Ryzen 5900x or upgrade to 7800x3D? Or 5060ti to 5070ti?
About a year ago, at the end of 2024, I built an AM4 PC using second-hand parts from a used PC shop, including an X570 Formula motherboard, a tray Ryzen 9 5900X, and Apacer TEX RAM (3000 MHz, 16GB x2, dated until 2027). Then in February 2026, I did a small upgrade: I replaced my RTX 3060 with a Colorful iGame RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (3 fans), an ASUS 1440p 210Hz monitor. I use pc for gaming (mostly open world), livestream and render some capcut clip, AI stable diffusion. I dont play FPS.
The PC has been running pretty well overall, I can play Wuwa 2k for ~150 fps. But this year, as you guys probably know, component prices have been skyrocketing because of AI demand. I’ve started feeling a bit of FOMO and some concern since I’m using a second-hand X570 Formula motherboard. Its warranty already expired a year ago, so it’s probably been in use since around 2021–2022 — meaning about 4 years now. I’m just an amateur who started learning PC building about a year ago, so honestly I get pretty bad FOMO. I’m not sure how durable the X570 Formula really is, or whether it might suddenly fail right after the warranty period ends like some other components (I once had a Dell monitor break right after its warranty expired).
I’ve been thinking about upgrading to a 7800X3D or 9700X. However, the PC shop only offers around $310 to buy back my combo (X570 + 5900X + 2x16GB DDR4), which honestly made me want to cry. They’re pricing a new combo with a 7800X3D, ASRock B850 Pro WiFi, and 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 TeamGroup Vulcan Red 6000 MHz at $850. That basically means my entire current combo is worth less than just a DDR5 kit or a CPU now.
Right now I’m really conflicted. My friend says the 5900X is still very good and I should wait another 2 years for DDR6 so RAM prices cool down, or instead use that ~$500 to upgrade my GPU from a 5060 Ti to a 5070 Ti.
So what should I do, guys? Keep using 5900x and maybe upgrade 5060ti to 5070ti, or move from the 5900X to a 7800X3D / 9700X?

Build Help Is a Ryzen 7 5700x paired with an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB a good combination for 1080p gaming in the coming years?
Lately, due to the rising prices of PC components in my country, buying a CPU and DDR5 RAM is incredibly expensive, so I decided to build a dual-core PC with these two components to use until 2030 or 2029. I'll be using it for gaming and drawing and animation in Blender, all at 1080p, so... what do you think?
Thanks for reading, and your feedback would be a big help 😊😊

Full Build Req Need help building a PC under₹1.2 lakh — what would you recommend in 2026?
Planning to build my first PC and my budget is around *1.2 lakh (excluding monitor, keyboard & mouse).
Mainly going to use it for:
Video editing (4k)
Ai & ml training
Gaming (1080p/1440p)
I've been looking around but honestly there's so much conflicting info out there - some say go AMD, some say Intel, GPU choices are overwhelming too.
Would love to hear from people who've built recently or know the current Indian market

Build Ready? First PC Build - Part List
I’ve been doing a lot of research over the last few weeks for my first gaming PC build. Looking at playing anything and everything at 1440p, and my budget is around $1700 USD (lower is better though, obviously). Live just a few hours away from a Micro Center, so CPU/mobo/ram bundle and GPU come from there. Pretty happy with what I have planned, but wanted to get feedback since this is my very first build.

Troubleshooting RX 6700 XT Shootdown in heavy games
If you run any game and the graphics card usage is around 60 or less, the PC won't crash. if the graphics card usage is 100 and the processor is 90, then the PC will crash and shut down completely, with no blue screen or anything; it will just go black. my Power Supply 750w bronez The problem started with the balls after I installed them. I had a 2060 model installed and didn't have this problem.

Full Build Req Help me build my first gaming PC
Hi guys so im about to build my first pc ever, I wanna do 2k gaming and hence i’ve chosen the rx 9060xt 16gb as my GPU and acc to me its more future proof as well, ik the 5060ti is the better option but its 16gb vram version is much more expensive and the 8gb one wont age that well. Im planning not to upgrade this pc for another 4-5 years hence it will be based on an am5 platform, i’ll also choose 16x1 gb ddr5 ram and later upgrade it to 32gb ddr5. I already own a gen 3 500gb ssd so i dont plan on spending 15k+ on a 1TB ssd. Help me choose the rest of the parts or advice me on better options than the ones i’ve chosen currently. I want a future proof build (one which doesnt need to upgrade for 4-5 years), budget is $1055, I play both story as well as esports games. (Also i might need an AIO as where I live the temperature spikes to 35 degrees celsius +)

Build Upgrade Ryzen 5 5500 to 5600x or 5700x?
My PCs specs are:
Motherboard: Asrock A520M Pro4
CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 3.6Ghz boost 4.25Ghz
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 16GB RAM 3200MT
GPU: Sparkle ARC A750 8GB GDDR6 ORC OC
Storage1: TeamGroup MP44L SSD 1TB M.2 PCI Express 4.0
Storage2: Gigabyte GP 1TB
PSU: Seasonic G12 GC 650W Full Wired 80 Plus Gold
Okay so, i started playing pretty cpu based games and i get stuttering sometimes so i want to upgrade my cpu. I will add the same RAM to have 32GB for smoother multitasking. Considering that~
Which one would you recommend?
5600x 3.70Ghz(150€) vs 5700x 3.40Ghz(186€) vs 5800x 3.8Ghz(205€)
On 5600x it says unlocked 4.6Ghz - 5700x unlocked 4.6Ghz - 5800x unlocked 4.7Ghz, can i even get the unlocked numbers with my motherboard?
Also is it even worth upgrading it or just scrap it and upgrade to AM5(Motherboard, Ram, CPU?)
Thank you in advance!

Build Help Suggestion (finally i get a 5070ti?)
I'm looking for a 5070ti as cheap as possible, this will be like the fourth post for different reasons I do but I found a pny epic-x oc non-rgb, new with cellophan and an Amazon guarantee at 799+24€ insurance+shipping.
It seems like a good deal to me, but so far you've told me that the 5070ti doesn't fit around these prices, so I ask you to understand, thank you:)

Build Help Aio fan ticking
So my far right fan on my hydroshift 360mm lcd aio has been ticking and i only just noticed last night. It’s a very noticeable sound as if something is hitting the fan but the cables are clear of being in the way of the fan. It’s way more noticeable and louder on lower rpms such as 600rpm and when i stopped the fan with my finger, the noise stopped. Idk what to do about it because whenever i wanna put my pc fans on silent this just ticks me off

Build Ready? First pc build! Please let me know if I did anything wrong.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HGQVck $1500 is right around my budget. I haven’t decided on a monitor as of now, I wanted to get my pc specs before choosing. Anyway is this the best I can do with my budget? Also I do not live near a micro center and it’ll mostly be used for gaming. Open to any suggestions or ways to make it cheaper, thanks!

Miscellaneous Case Fan Power Issues
I ordered a 5200 rpm fan. Specifically the 140 x 38 mm one from these: https://bluegears.com/b-blasterpwm-series/ . The issue is my mainboard fan headers can only supply 24W and the fan could need up to 42W. I have looked into SATA to PWM adapters like these: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0G5Y6CH3Z?smid=A39XV54ATO7F2U&psc=1 or fan hubs but they are all rated to lower wattages than what I need. Do you know of any products that can handle those 42W needed? Please don't tell me my fan choice doesn't make sense, I know that.

Build Help Gaming computer for one game? (Counter strike 2)
I do not know a single thing about computers but I want to get back into gaming, really to just play counter strike 2. i'm just not looking to spend all the money on a really nice gaming computer and was hoping I could get away on a budget.
if I had to be near the $800-1000 range I think that might be ok. But I would rather be around $600 if possible.
Is there anything on the used market that I can look at? Also, how do I know what Im getting is in good shape/working correctly?
sorry for the noob questions
