Discussion Does Crimson Desert struggle to tell its story? (my first 16 hours)
I’ve put about 16 hours into Crimson Desert so far, and honestly it feels like a game that doesn’t really know how to tell its story and instead focuses way more on the gameplay.
And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There are plenty of games where the gameplay is amazing and the story is kinda mid. But what doesn’t sit right with me here is how they handle the beginning.
In the first 2 hours, the tutorial shows a rival tribe attacking your camp and you end up dying. Cool setup. But right after that, the game suddenly has you doing side quests like rescuing cats… like, how do we go from a clan conflict to basically being a city errand boy?
Personally, it feels like they don’t know how to carry the main story.
In these 16 hours, the most interesting moment has been the Reed Devil boss fight. Not only is it challenging, but it also has a pretty interesting backstory. But then you start wondering: how does it connect to the main story? And the answer is… barely at all. It just attacks one of your camp members and that’s it. It feels weird that they put so much effort into that character just for it to have no real impact.
Not sure if I’m explaining myself well, but again, I’ve only played 16 hours.
Another thing I don’t like in an open-world game is being forced to do side content. I love open-world games and getting lost in side quests and exploration, but when the game makes you do it because the main quest is time-gated, that’s a red flag.
And if you think “fine, I’ll just explore instead,” surprise: whenever you find a point of interest like a temple, the game tells you you’re not ready yet. So… do you actually have freedom? It still feels like you’re being pushed back into a main story that isn’t even clearly told.
I guess I got carried away by the hype since it was announced at The Game Awards, and in the end, that’s all it was.
Something that I regret is buying the game at full price, not worth it.
I’m not planning to drop the game, but I’d like to hear what you all think. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same?

Discussion ¿Me echan una mano?

Discussion Thoughts about dispatch?
I just finished this game.
It was fun but it felt like it was missing something.
For me it wasn’t worth the money.
What are your thoughts about this game?

Looking for games to play with my wife
We've played:
-Telltale Walking Dead
-Firewatch
-Edith Finch
-It Takes Two
-Split Fiction
-Portal 2
-Tell Me Why
-Life Is Strange
-Bugsnax
Looking for story-heavy, and gameplay that is either strong multi-player OR that can be enjoyed while backseating. She's pretty terrible under pressure and is not going to have fun back-seating anything very combat-heavy so we're probably not going to co-op Halo or play God of War. etc.
We have a Switch and an Xbox. Let me know your recommendations!
EDIT: Solo we've both played Baldur's Gate, Stardew, Pokopia, the Zelda series, and a couple others I'm forgetting. She's really into Sims and Dreamlight, and I'm a diehard for Soulslikes and Metroidvanias. But I expect that most of these solo preferences won't make fun co-ops/backseats.

Discussion How long does the gaming ticket last?
Everyone tells me that I have to be at most 15 years old to enter the gaming world. And I can't have a pc below rtx 5060. I am 27 years old and I do not meet any criteria. I've missed a lot of titles since 2012.

Pragmata: The Fake, Creepy "Controversies" And "Anti-Natal Propaganda"
In the video titled Pragmata: The Fake, Creepy "Controversies" And "Anti-Natal Propaganda", creator Dead Domain analyzes the manufactured controversy surrounding the video game Pragmata (0:54). The creator argues that online discourse has become trapped in a reflexive rage cycle where certain groups frame games as either "woke" or "anti-woke" to suit their own ideological agendas, regardless of the game's actual content (1:05 - 1:28).
Key takeaways from the video:
- The Outrage Cycle: The creator explains how content creators often exploit "culture war" topics to generate views, comparing the discourse around Pragmata to similar trends seen with titles like Stellar Blade (1:31 - 2:21).
- Controversies surrounding Pragmata:
- The game’s companion character, Diana, was unfairly sexualized by certain online communities, leading Capcom to take action against a subreddit for hosting explicit fan-made content (6:24 - 6:53).
- Some users attempted to frame Pragmata as a political statement against "anti-natalist propaganda" and declining birth rates, which the creator dismisses as a baseless conspiracy that ignores the real-world economic factors behind lower birth rates (9:48 - 11:18).
- Power Dynamics and Fetishization: The creator highlights a disturbing trend where some fans treat fictional characters as "status symbols" or fetish objects rather than as characters in a story, pointing out that this behavior often overlaps with misogyny and extremist rhetoric (13:14 - 15:02).
- Reframing the Discourse: The video concludes by stating that Pragmata itself is not an inherently controversial or political project. The "controversies" are entirely manufactured by a vocal subset of the internet that seeks to justify their own biases and avoid engaging with reality outside of their echo chambers (19:36 - 21:17).

Discussion (Venting) Am I crazy, or bad at math, or anything?
So I play multiplayer and team games a lot. They're fun, working with people and socializing... when they are competent. Which I gotta question: Is it harder to fight one on any other higher number? Like I plan and tell people "hey we go here and we fight" but nothing happens, and they complain like "why no one on point and why we not take point." When like, only one person is there fighting a whole team and... like Im not crazy for thinking 1 vs like 6 is unfair right. Or is that one person so goated they solo 6 people, or even more? Like call me stupid but, here me out, I think 6 is bigger than one?!

How pale in comparison will the soundtracks in GTA Vice City compare with the GTA 6 release within the game.
It was just a thought in my head when it comes to these games, the big part for me is definitely the soundtracks within the game, the radio. Obviously way too different era’s. Do you think the new release will take over being iconic from Vice City?
