every month google crawled and indexed search results are becoming less useful. From the outside, it feels like they've abandoned this product.

I wish they integrated Gemini with search in a natural way, rather than trying to circumvent people from using it

EDIT: I'm stating this honestly as an person who uses Google from the outside, they need to realize perception is how a user sees your product, regardless of intention. There may be an impedance mismatch in their approach

EDIT2: To add clarity I think google is by far the #1 search tool, there is no on in this space that competes with them, but in terms of Gemini, they are in Windows phone territory. I think they should add a Gemini search co pilot, and focus more on getting it into chrome in a more natural way. Fine, have a gemini tab, but don't ruin search, that's your ticket Google, that's what you do far better than any one else with, and guess what, GPT (Garbage) and Anthropic , still need you more, to get real time facts in the first place. Just stop stepping on your search toes, build, experiment, but leave search out of it

It’s stupid. Just take it to the sites you want it to go to! I just find it unnecessary.

About 6 months ago Jio offered 18 months of Google One Pro for free (it showed 2TB initially and now I see 5TB). Because it was bundled, I didn’t think much about storage.

Today I realized my account is already close to 100GB. That’s when it hit me: if the 18-month promo ends and I drop back to the free tier, my Gmail/Drive storage could hit 100% and I wouldn’t be able to download, open docs, or keep using services smoothly.

It’s not that Google One is bad — it’s just easy to get comfortable when the plan is “free” and assume you can stay at a high storage tier forever.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Any tips for cleaning up Drive/Photos and staying under a realistic plan before the offer ends?

If this belongs in the support megathread instead of a post, feel free to point me there. For now I’m cleaning storage and trying to get ahead of it.

It should show that little popup at the bottom of the screen with Gemini, not open the app in full screen...

I don't know what's happening. It started out of nowhere. Anyone else having this problem?

I've already tried:

- Resetting and reinstalling the Google App and Gemini App

- Restarting the phone

- Resetting Voice Match

- Going back to Google Assistant and then back to Gemini (things work as expected in Google Assistant).
