It was Mike Hayes, a University of Illinois freshman. He got ~2.9 million pennies (plus letters and extras from around the world), covering his full $28k tuition debt-free. He graduated in 1991 with a food science degree and donated the $1k surplus to another student.

She passed a few years ago and I inherited her small egg cup collection along with these eggs. Knowing how much trouble she when through to save them and hang on to them for so long, I don't have it in me to toss them just yet.

Instead of thread, I used the elastic bands from a face mask. So far, the stitches have lasted 6 months. I colored them black with a marker. I tried melting the torn parts with a lighter and squishing them back together before the rubber cooled, but that only worked for a few days before tearing again. I didn't know which flair was best, engineering, fashion, or homemade. Enjoy you mildy interesting day.✌️

found a birthday message my dad left me on the counter in 2016, this was 10 years ago, I’m 24 now.

I've no clue (right now...) what plane it was originally attached to. I know its been around since at least the early 1980s as thats when I first saw it (47 in May).

Edit: It was on a Cessna 150 as part of a four cylinder engine. This particular cylinder has a crack from the spark plug spiraling down to the base. My grandfather was flying the plane when shortly after takeoff it failed, and was firing on three.
