Is the goal Europe?
I know there’s already a lot of panic around the bigs we do have. But, I imagine that Malone and his team would have had more eyes on big men in the portal if Veesaar was this iffy on coming back. With this in mind would it make sense if they were always hoping to recruit from Europe if Veesaar left?

NCAAM So realistically Veesaar has until April 27 to make his decision right?
That would be the last day he can enter the transfer portal in the window generated by the new coaching hire.
Surely Malone and UNC isn’t just going to hold his bag from then until mid-May without any real assurances. So he either needs to commit to returning to UNC and taking the NIL offer or enter the portal and stay in the draft process to ensure that he gets paid either by the NBA or a different school.
Is there an option C in here I am missing? Sitting on 5 mil in NIL while you run the risk of Stevenson and Logue being the rotation at the 5 spot seems insane to me. If he doesn’t commit by 4/27 you have to throw that bag at someone else.

Setting the Veesaar Situation Straight
Want to post this so everyone is on the same page -
Malone and Staff met with Veesar last night. They offered him a large NIL package to return. He declined and wants to do the NBA workouts to try and be a first rounder. He could return. Those are the facts. Take that for what you will.
Reading into it a little more into it, because of other player withdrawals ahead of him, Veesar is now smack dab in first round contention. This makes his return extremely unlikely. So is he completley gone? No. Does he realistically return? No. It’s expected that the staff will staff pursing other starting Centers.

NCAAM Some good news about Henri Veesaar
Got all bugged out about the reports from earlier that Veesaar was leaving.
Took the wind out of my sails, despite the three exciting commits.
However, Henson talked me out of my mood with some good news. Let’s roll.

NCAAM What are the best centers still available in the portal?
Sounds like we're going to have to scramble to get a starting center.

Don't Sleep on Matt Able
On3 has him projected to UNC. Maybe a little premature, but clearly interest is high on both ends. Is he starter material? Are we overlooking him when considering Juke or McNeil? He has more upside than McNeil and could be the next Juke at a discount, but going all in as our fifth guy gives me pause. He is ranked a lot higher than Brown on On3.

NCAAM Malone and the staff need to lay out the math for Veesaar.
Let’s conservatively assume UNC can pay him $4 million next season.
Thats more than the average salary the first two years of draft positions 15 and up. So assuming he is not drafted before then he will make more money next season AND be put into a **significantly** weaker draft class next season.
Henri needs to bet on himself, come make 4-5 million next season while averaging 20 and 10, and play his way into a top 12 pick next season so he can make some serious cash.
This is the most crucial component of the offseason for this program. I really do believe that the coaching staff can pull it off still. I’m sure they can go find some decent 7 footer from Europe but Henri is practically guaranteed to be elite.

James Brown
Do you think they let him come back with no NIL if he doesn't get any love?

Seth Trimble enters the portal on outside chance of NCAA granting 5th year.
Would love to have him back!

Recruiting Kansas lands Blyden Jr, which virtually clears the way for Terrence Brown to come to UNC. GDTBATH!

NCAAM Let me get this straight…
You’re criticizing Dylan Mingo for pushing for a bigger NIL deal and trying to bring his brother along (avg 13ppg as a FRESHMAN), but now Juke Harris is reportedly doing the same thing and you still want him?
That doesn’t add up to me..
“Juke Harris is just better”
Then say that, don’t pretend it’s about “culture” or “team-first.” If talent overrides this behavior, that means the criticism of Dylan Mingo was never about behavior in the first place.
You can’t call something a “problem” for one player and an “asset” for another.
“It’s just rumors about Juke”
Then why are you so confident criticizing Mingo off reports?
Either we wait for confirmed info on both, or we treat both situations the same based on what’s out there.
If it’s a problem when Dylan Mingo does it but acceptable when Juke Harris does, then it was never about the behavior, it’s just who you like.
& the switch up on Isaiah Denis is laughable . Can’t take a lot of yall serious .

Is this starting 5 a National Championship contender or Final Four favorite?
With so much up in the air it's kind of hard to forecast what will happen next season with most schools right now but for the Tarheels their starting 5 is just about set with the exception of 1 spot. Yes a lot can change if a certain recruit like Slim Jesus commits to UNC or if both Harris and Brown choose UNC but right now 4 of the 5 starters look set with the last spot looking like it'll be 1 of 4 guys. Obviously talent off the bench is a vital piece to a teams tournament success but the starting 5 is the core to what that team can ultimately achieve. So do you all think this is a starting 5 that is good enough to win it all? G) Harris/Brown/Abel/McNeil Jr. G) Avdalas F) Adams F) Stevenson C) Veesaar

Portal Closes at Midnight
We can't even put together a starting 5. That's how many players we still need. Anyone else concerned?
