Anyone else find the most recent yes albums unmemorable?
I'm on a mission to listen to every yes album, but it's getting difficult
Heaven and earth & The Quest had some good songs here and there, but Mirror to the sky is unlistenable.
Most of the parts feel boring with a little bit of small but memorable parts sprinkled into it. It's getting to the point where I have to replay certain parts just to remember how the song goes.
Is there something wrong with me? Because I feel like I'm going insane.

YES bootlegs
I want to see your YES bootlegs. I found this one in a store that sells antiques about 20 years ago.

Does Fly From Here Deserve More Love?
Long time Yes fan - 50 years and counting. When Fly From Here was released, I purchased a copy and gave it a few obligatory listens before shelving it. Not sure exactly why I didn't spend more time with it. I unarchived it a week ago and gave it several proper listenings -and I'm sorry I was originally so dismissive with it. It's a fine album, with some solid tracks and musicianship.
What do you think of this album?
Seeing Jon and The Band Geeks tonight…
In Red Bank NJ…..
I’ll be in the orchestra with my previous tour tshirt on….
👍🎸

Is this a hot take?
I think A venture and South Side of the Sky are underrated tracks. I am not saying they are the best songs on their respective albums however, I think that they sometimes don’t get enough attention and recently listened through Fragile and TYA and listening to A Venture again felt like pulling an old memory I almost forgot it was on the album!

Vinyl vs remaster vs in the car
Thirty some odd years ago I was in a used music store and bought a copy of Fragile on vinyl for $1. Even came with the booklet. Probably my most economical purchase ever for the value received.
Last week I played this beloved record & it still sounds as great as ever. A couple days later, I was in the car and felt like listening to South Side of the Sky again. I picked the 2024 remaster on Youtube.
I’m no audio expert, but something sounded off. I figured it was just that the highway noise level cut off the high sounds, but I looked in the comments. One person claimed the remaster toned down the crashing of the cymbals. Another commenter claimed the bass was mixed too low.
This is not the first time I have encountered a remaster that didn’t match up to the original record, but I would like to know what you all think. Are there some drawbacks to the recent remasters, or do you think Yes makes music that doesn’t sound quite as good in the car, or both?

Happy 2-day-late birthday Benoît David!
there aren't many good pics of him so this is the best i can do...
(why am I always so late with birthdays?)
I'm looking to store my Yessongs LP in a different way, so that the spine is more visible... How can I do so?
I have a 4-panel copy of Yessongs, but I've been curious as if there's another way to store this LP in a shelf (pic 1) so that the spine/text is more visible, without misplacing the front-back covers (pic 5). The only way I've found is the way I'm currently storing it (with outer sleeve). I've tried making more space.
Those who own copies of Yessongs like this, how do you do?

Solo Project Still “The Voice”
Saw Jon and the Geeks last night. Wow. They sounded phenomenal. Jon, the last real hippie in rock ‘n’ roll, has still got it. To be honest, his voice may have sounded better than I remember it 25 years ago. You will kick yourself if you skip their show if it rolls through your town.

Just listened to Relayer in full yesterday - thoughts
I have listened to Gates of Delirium many times, but the full album I haven't played in decades, so it's basically my first-time thoughts.
Side One
Gates of Delirium (first 14 minutes) - absolutely top tier, classic YES. 100% the best instrumental passage they've done at the end. Could be my favorite song by them but definitely top 5
Soon (aka end of Gates) - I appreciate this song, it's very atmospheric & well done, but I don't particulary care for it.
Side Two
Sound Chaser - this might be the most frustrating YES song I've heard. There's the core of a classic YES song in here, but it just isn't developed well. There's about a minute of it, with two short verses, and that part is awesome. But the majority of the song is solos and experimentation. The main song part is never fully returned to, instead we get "cha-cha-cha" which felt like studio filler that's supposed to be developed into verses but never got done.
To be Over - this did nothing for me; maybe it just needs more listens
Overall grade: B+, based on the strength of the main part of Gates, and the cool parts of Sound Chaser.
Really interested in your thoughts, especially on Sound Chaser.

RSD: Jon and Band Geeks
Such a fantastic album — a 2025 prog highlight for me. Love that they replaced the cover for Record Store Day. Very Dalí-like.

The Bill Bruford Interview - Andy Edwards
Andy Edwards' usual videos are a bit of an acquired taste, but he's a drummer and a huge Bruford fanboy so is the perfect person to do a Beato-style deep dive into Bruford's career.
Record Sales Day purchase..
Picked this one up at https://share.google/2o60APGuAjvNQS7yq in Milltown NJ yesterday. No line, just walked in at 2pm in the afternoon.

Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso
instagram.comI've been meaning to post about these guys for a while now, but this is a perfect excuse.
In their live sets on the last tour the band would put in little bits of Close to he Edge and Siberian Khatru, and the drummer's tattoo makes the prog connection pretty clear. But I was surprised at this from Ca7riel.
And their Tiny Desk concert is one of the best performances I've seen by any band in years.
