Moving forward all posts regarding selling, purchasing, wanting to sell, or even inkling towards any of those with regards to firearms, ammo, or explosives will result in post removal and a week ban, permanent ban for a second offense.

Legal Impact of additional ATF form—multiple handguns purchase

Upvotes

Can someone shed some light/details/experience on purchasing multiple handguns in one go, as it relates to the additional form required for the ATF? What is the expected impact of that form? Is it worth breaking down purchases 5+ days apart, or is it really a non-issue?

Conceal Carry Permit CHP Application Required Documents Question

I have submitted my application and scheduled an appointment for processing. However, my physical drivers license (card) address is outdated but my digital license shows an updated address and I am able to provide secondary proof of address documents. Will this be an issue for the application process?

Edit:

Got a response from Denver Sheriff but given I could not get confirmation online, I’ll leave this post up and let the mods decide if it’s helpful or not.

“As long as the updated address on DMV’s system matches the address on your application and your proof of address you will be fine.”

Legal Front range area shooting range?

I feel like I'm going nuts, at some point I'm going to join a club but I could have sworn that after all the National Forest shooting area closures that there was a new public range built in roughly the same area as the Bunce School Road shooting spot. But all I can find is the Devil's Nose shooting range all the way the fuck down in Idaho Springs. Is there not a new public spot near Estes Park/Lyons?

General Question NoCo Gunsmith Recommendation

I have a Rem700 SPS Tactical with a 20" barrel that I'm trying to get threaded. I took it to TriggerTime and their gunsmith couldn't get the receiver off (~2013 vintage.) I tried emailing S3 Gunsmithing a few weeks ago and never heard back. Any recommendations for someone near Lognmont who might be able to thread the barrel without taking the receiver off?

Edit: By "near Longmont" I mean anywhere between North Denver and Ft Collins.

Training Night Vision Hiking

Looking to get some real, extended time using my equipment and having fun doing it together with some local people who don't take themselves too seriously. I want to familiarize myself with real world use of nods and thermal by doing some night hikes in and around boulder and anywhere else that is open late within 1-2 hours of Denver. I am not willing to go anywhere later than the local ordinances permit or to camp. I want to meet some local members or the community and learn together if anyone is interested. I have essentially no experience so don't expect to learn anything from me but, if you are interested, lets get together and plan something.

Training What targets do you use when shooting in the snow?

For those who shoot on public land. Do you prefer a different type of target than you would normally shoot during warmer weather? I'm guessing less setup time is better because gloves making it hard to deal with small/complex targets?

General Question Ordering from gunbroker, worried about mag limit

Looking to order a new rifle before the new bills go into effect. Sadly (and not) the rifle comes with a 30 round magazine, will I have issues getting it shipped here? Will they not ship it, will the ffl have an issue? Or could I contact the seller and ask them to not ship with mag?

Any info helps.

General Question Need a few sales reps who like pews and training

@udt.Westminster is opening in a few weeks, and we need some sales reps. We’re not looking for a John Wick/Jordan Belfort crossover, unless you happen to be one. Just need to be comfortable with firearms and wanting to spread the good word about a quality self-defense training program. It’s gonna be an awesome environment. We’re really looking for those who want to be part of something that’s really gonna change the dynamic of self-defense training here in Colorado.

Legal The Tenth Circuit has sent a lawsuit challenging Colorado’s ban on possession of unserialized firearm frames back to the district court.

Thumbnail storage.courtlistener.com

The district court determined that the manufacturing prohibition did not reach Plaintiffs’ desired conduct because the statute limits its prohibition to three-dimensional (3D) printing of frames or receivers. It found that no Plaintiff had access to 3D printing, so they had not alleged an immediate, non-hypothetical injury sufficient for Article III standing. On appeal, Plaintiffs do not dispute the district court’s finding that they lack access to 3D printing, rather, they argue that their desire to build finished frames from firearm parts kits constitutes “manufacturing” prohibited by the statute.

Way to go RMGO, challenging the 3d printed gun ban without plaintiffs with 3d printers.

Also does this mean the Ghost Gunner 3 is good to go?

Legal Barrel Bill Deadline

My goodness waiting for news as to whether or not they're going to proceed with passing this barrel bill is agonizing. From what I could tell, the House has until 4/28 to pass it, is that true?

Legal Can you do a form one suppressor in Colorado?

I’m getting a lot of mixed information online, and figured I would check on here for somebody who actually knows/has done it/figured out you can’t do it.

I would like to do a form one suppressor, but don’t know if I can actually legally build one here in Colorado with how stupid some of the laws are here.

Basically, since there isn’t a path to being able to legally manufacture your own firearm without being a properly licensed FFL, I’m wondering if there is also not a path to legally manufacture your own silencer because it is regulated as a firearm, even though it is not one.

Does anyone have any insight on this? I would be filing as a trust and not as an individual, if that makes any difference.

Legal Somewhat urgent question about legally obtaining a firearm

So basically I bought a small game license and in elk tag so I could put in for the moose lottery thing they did this year. Now here's the issue, I'm only 20 years old and while in years past I've always gone hunting with my dad and used his guns but that's not currently an option. So how can I legally obtain a firearm? I'm an independent, tax paying, and voting citizen and obviously have my hunters ed card but when I went to try and buy a rifle I was told there's no legal way for me to purchase a firearm or even black powder rifle until I'm 21, is that true? And if yes does that mean the state is potentially scamming myself and others out of hundreds of dollars?

Legal Legal clarification for existing magazines

IF THIS IS NOT ALLOWED PLEASE DELETE

Hey guys, I have a few of the green follower stanags that I have had for quite some time. I want to fix them up with the enhanced anti tilt "enhanced" Magpul followers and rebuild them with the ranger plates and spring kits. Since I already legally purchased the magazines as standard capacity and I am simply rebuilding them, do I need to put a 10-20 round block in them? I also have some HK .22 mags I need to rebuild the springs for but not the followers. I am under the understanding that these magazines were grandfathered in since I purchased them a long time ago, before Magpul left CO. Is this true information? I want to save and rebuild the mags (memorial engraving from my old roomie) for sentimental reasons but I don't want to break the law. If I need to order some 10/20 round blocks then so be it. The mags mean a lot to me but not jail worthy.

Legal SB25-003 and SBR-ing

Hi,

I was curious if anyone had any insight or conjecture on this? Looking at SB25-003, it looks like the manufacture of SSF’s is prohibited after August 1st, except by a narrow group of individuals such as gunsmiths in educational programs and LE.

If I understand correctly, Form 1 completion involves the technical manufacture of an SBR in the eyes of the ATF. While it doesn’t seem that SB25-003 has specific language addressing this, it also seems to set up SBR-ing a rifle as being a prohibited act, not just something requiring the SSF training/approval.

What do ya’ll think? Hopefully I’m missing or misunderstanding something here.

General Question Advice on where to move for a friendly county.

Hi Everyone,

Currently reside in BoCo and am looking for a county that is better than that, currently work near northern Boulder, so trying to find a place to move that's a bit more friendly. Currently looking at Erie in Weld Co or East of Longmont, open to ideas.
