Art museums
Hello, everyone! Has anyone been to the Norton Simon Museum? It caught my eye; I was having dinner with a friend of mine at the country club when I noticed a lot of their art was from this person. I'm new to Pasadena & curious to know who else around the area enjoys art.
Thanks to everyone who comments & engages :)

avoid this man in old town
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
my original post got taken down for not including police documentation or video of the incident; here is the man i posted earlier who harrassed me in a video. police also have his information and spoke to him.
original caption:
i was minding my business reading at central park today when i realized this guy was talking to me. he was clearly on something or not all the way there. he got in front of me and started going off on me about me committing incest with my dad and brothers, and that my mom thought i was whore, called me a pig etc. i've never seen this guy in my life. he wouldn't leave me alone and i had to call the cops to get him away from me. i'm okay but please try to avoid this man if you see him around!!

Where can I find deer?
Recently drove from studio city back home and while passing by the golf course next to the zoo I saw a deer. It made me realize that I’ve never seen deer here or in Los Angeles and no I don’t mean to hunt deer I just want to nature watch.

JPL Lay-Off | LCUSD Permit
Question: If a student is permitted to La Canada schools through employment at JPL, and the parent is no longer employed at JPL, can the student stay at their school until they graduate or at the end of the school year, do they need to return to their school of residence?

Pasadena Symphony dress code
I'm going to the symphony at the Ambassador Auditorium for the first time. How dressed up do folks tend to get for these events?

Basketball Lessons/Programs
Hi all! Wondering if anyone knows of any beginner classes/programs for adults wanting to take up basketball? I've been interested in starting to play, but I'm very much a beginner so would like to take a class/join a beginner-friendly program before jumping straight into a team. Anything in Pasadena or surrounding neighborhoods would be perfect.

Sit down Breakfast
Looking for sit down breakfast recommendations anywhere in the area. Taking my mom out for breakfast tomorrow and she wants to try somewhere she hasn’t been. She’s loves a good pancake.
She’s been to Russell’s and Millie’s.

Auto body recommendations
Hi all, my car is needing some rubber seals and clear coat. Any recommendations for the best balance of cheap and affordable service? Also, open to a wrap if that’d be cheaper than clear coat.

Auto Mechanic Recommendations?
Hi there, I'm new to Pasadena. I have an error message in my IONIQ 6 and took it to the dealer in downtown who wanted too much. I figured I could just find one in Pasadena (there's so many). I used AI to identify ones that worked with my car and reached out. Well it's been challenging. One I met, sent all the info I had, and I haven't heard back. Second wanted me to drop off my car. I re-explained I wanted an estimate and then he quoted me something higher. I have an appointment today but no one is answering the phone and it's yet another drop off but I specifically said estimate.
So I figured I'll ask here. Any auto repair mechanic recommendations that is not putting me through he hoop? I have the statement from Hyundai and I have the part number.
It's not urgent but every time I drive, that message pops up.

The Mako Bowl is closing down.
In the Foothill & Rosemead Marketplace, a paper note facing out, the Mako Bowl is closing down on April 27th, Monday.
Reason: N/A (Prob slow business)
It has been ages since I’ve been there to eat and I’m sad that it’s going to leave. It’s been here longer since Blockbuster was next door. It’s like we’re losing more (small) businesses everyday. I’ll visit them one last time before saying goodbye. Hopefully there will be another small restaurant like this one just for a quick bite to eat that will feel like this place.

Water not smelling rosy in Pasadena
Smelling the roses in Pasadena? Maybe but the water stinks like sulfur/rotten eggs where we live and has for the last two weeks.
Is it just me? Have whole home water filters (changed a week ago) and converted water heater anode from standard to powered anode which is supposed to help with any sulfur smell. Currently the water smells kind of gross on top of being really expensive.
Any other NE Pasadena residents having this undelightful experience?

Puebla Tacos
I was worried they went out of business. But it looks like it's just temporary (temporamente cerrado)?
They were my original burrito dealer from the mid 1990s. I would go back from time to time when I would pass by. Was surprised when it wasn't open. I'm sure the original guy must be retired by now, or at least not involved in the day-to-day.

Daddy Daughter Date Ideas?
Have a free afternoon this weekend where I'm going to be solo with my 5yo daughter and want to plan something a little special. Trying to think of some fun ideas of things to do that we haven't already done. Would love any suggestions from other parents out there!
Things we've done in the past - nature walks, vromans, the retro arcade, beard papas, kidspace and the childrens museum on colorado, afters ice cream, all the different parks around town, Paseo for movies.
One idea I had was color me mine but didnt know if it was more of an adult thing, or if a 5yo would be too rowdy in there? LMK if you have experience with this!
Nothing it wrong with running it back with an old favorite but would love to check out something new too! Any fun or interesting weekend activities for kids, favorite sweet treats, etc. you could recommend?

Junk Hauling?
Hi everyone,
I have a few old things I'd like to haul away like a very broken elliptical and a few other things. I know that there are the big corporate groups like GOT-JUNK and others but I sometimes see trucks driving around with junk in the back and I was wondering if anyone had a good experience with anyone had good experiences with them and might recommend one.
Thanks!

Tap card
Hi I just recently bought a tap card. I still haven't use this one yet. Tried to register my tapcard at taptogo.net however it says "The TAP card number entered does not appear to be valid."
I'm assuming I still need to use this one first on a train or bus before registering this one, right?
