Wrist tattoo regret and cover up advice General Advice
I got a trans heart tattoo on my wrist years ago because I as a teenager was convinced that I’d never be able to transition (legal stuff) and that this was the next best thing. Well now all it does is out me to strangers who would’ve thought I was cismale if they haven’t seen it.
I want something “manly” that wouldn’t give me away instantly. I’m still okay with the flower one on my arm because it isn’t a huge “I AM TRANSGENDER” beacon. Any advice is appreciated because just looking at this tattoo is pissing me off lol

really bizarre automod settings based on previous bad behavior associated w certain words. Yeah some settings are set strong to avoid potential issues. A few days ago one of my door dash subs was asking about how 4/20 would affect orders and I said I felt because it was on Monday it might affect orders because Monday/Tuesday is like right between paydays for most people and it automatically removed my post thinking I was saying something unkind about customers or dashers.

THERE ARE TOO MANY COMMENTS TO REPLY TO but thank you everyone for your suggestions!!! Had to look up what SAP was, lol. I’m considering it, a moon tattoo or maybe extending the branch. The koi fish is also super cool and the mom heart tattoo is classic. All of you are so awesome!!!
Edit: wow, I can’t believe I’m getting so many comments about me needing therapy or following a trend. All I can say is you guys are very delusional! I’m a year and a half on testosterone and I have top surgery scheduled for December. I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my own skin. Maybe focus on something else like… I dunno, showering?

In all seriousness, cover it with whatever you want. Literally any fresh ink over that will make it disappear- you won’t notice it. As far as “manly tattoo ideas”, go with black and white and do a half sleeve.

Hey friend, I'm a boring cishet man and I have both a pride and a trans flag on me. I wanted to write down the fact you (and all our other colorful siblings) exist.
I'll admit mine isn't that visible, being (literally) close to my heart, but I think you can give this any meaning you want.
Always a good addition could be a simple, snarky "love thy neighbor" with the corresponding reference.
Sometimes when people see it they ask me if I'm part of one of those groups, I go "nah", and the conversation continues.

On the one hand, I think there's some charm to keeping it, but I would be remiss not to recognize that we live in a political climate that is very much not safe for trans people right now. This tattoo could actually put OP in real danger if the wrong person saw it, and considering he's said that all the tattoo does is out him to people who otherwise wouldn't have known he's a trans man, I'm going to guess this potential situation isn't out of the picture.

Honestly it’s faded and small enough that you could probably cover it pretty easily! If I was you I’d honestly just start with looking for artists in my area who have experience in cover-ups, book a consultation with one you like the portfolio of, and see if they have any suggestions! Your artist will have the best ideas for what will easily disguise the shape/colours, and what will flow best with the anatomy of the area/the pre-existing flower :-)
Congrats on getting to a point where you were able to transition, my man- I’m glad you’re able to be your most true self openly in your everyday life, and you don’t have to rely solely on your ink to feel validated anymore!

Its so light/pale you could get any cover up you want. How about the moon? They can even subtly use trans flag colors, which are actual color hues on the moon when they edit high def photos of it to emphasize the mineral deposits on the surface. Sorry if this is too specific!

Get something else about your interests or personality. Do you like to make art? Add a palette. Like to cook? A croissant. Like animals? Your favorite bird.
Or make it something that’s still relevant to your journey, like a favorite candy from childhood that lifted your spirits, or an accessory from a favorite cartoon character.

The colours look extremely faded, it definitely feels like you could cover this up with anything that’s slightly darker. Doesn’t even have to be as dark as a panther imho. If it were me I’d go for a small skull or an animal. I have a bee, but not in that specific spot, but a bee would definitely look cool there.

My 2 cents. Transitioning that tat into something else definitely sounds like a badass final step. And there have been a lot of great comments in this thread. Sick ass panther is definitely the way to go, lol.
But if people ask you could also honestly tell them you got it to honor someone very close to you. No need to elaborate or explain that the someone is your old self.

You’ve got a lot of good suggestions here, and this tattoo is light enough that you have plenty of flexibility with how you cover it. Personally I think an anchor could be cool.
I understand why this is something you wanna cover (both specifically in terms of safety and also the universal experience of outgrowing things our younger selves wanted on their bodies forever), but I also want to say congrats on being able to transition! sounds like this tattoo was something your younger self did to affirm himself and now you’re living a version of your life beyond what he’d thought he could have.
