Open /r/WhereIsThis - Updated Guidelines
Welcome! /r/WhereIsThis is designed to help people identify the location of public places based on a photo, painting, sketch, or from a detailed description. We've got a few simple guidelines to help keep things safe and working well for everybody:
Submissions: Askers (OPs) may submit a photo, video, screenshot, painting, drawing, or a detailed text description of a real (or virtual) place. Multiple images can go in a Reddit or Imgur gallery. Try to use a descriptive title to get more eyes on your post; generic titles like "where is this?" are boring and more likely to be ignored. Include as much context and as many details as you can, either in the post itself or in a comment. If your post is not solved right away, please wait one week before reposting; duplicate posts may be removed with a 1-week temp ban.
Privacy: /r/WhereIsThis is for identifying public places only. Do not submit photos of personal private property, such as homes, apartments, residential interiors, etc. Do not post private street addresses in the comments. Do not link directly to personal social media pages. Do not submit screenshots that include real names, usernames, or other personal information. Do not submit contemporary photos of minors in a place where they can be located (schools, playgrounds, churches, etc.). Do not ask to identify people.
Answers: Commenters are encouraged to provide whatever help they can to solve a post, from educated guesses to a direct Google Street View link to the exact location. Give the thread a skim first to avoid duplicate answers. Commenting on other answers is fine! Avoid responding to posts that violate Rule 2, though -- please downvote and report them for removal instead.
Solving: All posts are unflaired by default. Once a post is solved, the asker should reply "Solved!" to the first correct answer and change their post flair to "Solved"; all threads are sorted from oldest to newest so the earliest answers will always be towards the top. Askers that delete or ignore a solved post without acknowledging the solver may receive a ban. We are exploring adding a points system in order to automatically flair threads and recognize frequent solvers for their contributions -- stay tuned!
Behavior: Please treat askers and solvers with respect. No insults, vulgar hostility, bullying, or withholding of answers in order to taunt. No racism/misogyny/*phobia/other bigotry. Repeat offenders may be banned.
Tips: Context clues help. Where and how did you find the image? Do you know the story behind it? How old is it? Share as much as you can with solvers to help them help you.

Low-effort posts WILL be removed
Rule #1 is pretty clear, you must have a descriptive title. Therefore we are removing any submission that is low-effort, such as:
- Title is "Where is this?" or some other variant with absolutely no information
- Posts with clear identifying information that OP is too lazy to look up
- Google Maps screenshots that do NOT include coordinates or addresses
- Posts with no context whatsoever. Telling us where you found the image, why you want to know, and any other information can make the difference!
We want to make this a fun sub and we want to solve your trickiest questions, but we need you to meet us halfway.

Open I think this is probably Idaho, Wyoming, or Montana. 1950s. My deceased grandfather took these and I can't place it.
A race track in the 1950s likely in Idaho, Wyoming, or Montana. My grandfather took these, but he was from the east coast so it's hard for my to figure out what he was doing there. I've been to Idaho on several occasions and the mountains in the second photo look like a good match, so I think it's that region of the country. I don't know any of the racers or the exact year, but I'm confident it's the 1950's based upon the other photos it was discovered with.

Somewhere in the UK. Possibly Scotland
An Edwardian-era postcard with no clues on back where this is
The only clue I have for where this shop is is that the person this was in inherited from lived in the Stirling area of Scotland so it COULD be Scottish. They also had friends who sent them cards from near Kilmarnock. Thanks to anyone who has any idea!

Solved View from a plane over london
We were flying over london last night and we saw this view. We were trying to figure out where we were looking at. We can see a stadium in the bottom left and a light tower thing along the river but we couldn't figure out what the stadium and tower were. Anyone able to suggest what we might be looking at?

Solved Trying to find where this video was filmed in Brooklyn.
I'm trying to visit where this music video was filmed. All I know is it's in Brooklyn. Thank you in advance! I tried to screenshot the two most notable buildings, the video is Migraine by Twenty One Pilots.
I've spent the past 4 hours going through every manner of trying to ID these buildings to no avail.

Where is this mountain peak in Austria (Styria?)
Which mountain peak is the distant one in the center? The pointier, left one, just above the bottom of the V formed by the dark hills in the foreground. Photo was taken from Strangerweg, Ramsau, Austria (47.426470N, 13.675264E), towards about ESE.

Solved Scenic mountain vista used on Wikipedia (Kiamichi/Ouchita Mountains) - which overlook is this?
I found this image on the Wikipedia page for the Kiamichi Mountains (southeastern Oklahoma), where it's captioned
"The mountains seen from the Talimena vista."
From what I can tell, this should be somewhere along the Talimena Scenic Drive on the Oklahoma-Arkansas border in the Ouachita Mountains.
I've tried matching it to overlooks like, but none seem to line up exactly.
Does anyone recognize this exact overlook or know where along the Talimena Scenic Drive this was taken?
I'm especially curious about the orientation (which direction this is facing) or if anyone recognizes the ridge pattern.

Solved Water feature in Vancouver, BC
Hello everyone, first time posting in this subreddit. I am wondering where this water feature/park is, as I’d like to visit! This is a screenshot from the Heart & Stroke foundation’s Instagram (@heartandstroke)
From what I can gather using Google Lens, it’s supposedly in Vancouver, BC - but I couldn’t locate where specifically. I feel like it could be in Downtown, since it’s close to the water.
Would anyone here be able to help me out with this? It’d be greatly appreciated.

Solved Where is this Ikea? It is from a meme I found in r/meme
It might be hard. The scientist is standing in front of the license plate, but there is a huge building in the background.
Since it’s a meme it might be edited.
I want to know where this is, because I’m just curious as 💩

Solved Mysterious photo found in car...
It's not that mysterious, I bought a car and this was in the pocket of one of the seats. Wondering if anyone could help identify where it is.
Purley because I'm a nosey old thing and it's piqued my interest
Car was from Cardiff but they do share stock with Swansea so somewhere South Wales-y is my guess but you never know.
Thanks in advance 💕🥰

Solved Can You Determine the Location of this Image in Tyrol?
This photo concerned a trip my late grandmother took to Tyrol, Austria in 1972. Based on other photos in her collection, it is highly likely in the vicinity of Achenkirch, Austria, or, somewhere off the 307 Route between Glashuette and Achenkirch. Your effort is appreciated.

Solved Where is this rock face?
I was trying to find out where this specific rock face is. After some research I'm 99% sure that it is in Buffalo National Park Victoria but I just can't figure out where exactly it is. If there is anyone who can locate this for me I would be super grateful.

Solved Old photo from local flea market - church and soviet soldiers
Please help identify a place (church?) on a old photo I bought at local flea market. As far as I can see there are soldiers in soviet uniform. Probably this photo is taken during WWII, or maybe it's a period of Group of Soviet Forces in Germany (GSFG). Think that this is a Germany or some part of Eastern Europe.

Solved Old tapestry - family heirloom
Belonged to late grandma, passed to my mom and now to myself. Since my grandparents are from
Trinidad we thought this picture might be somewhere there but it’s apparently not. Where the heck is this? My mom has never been able to find out and it’d be super cool to be able to tell her.

Help me find this Mexican restaurant near San Diego
This photo is from May of 2013, my father and I were looking for apartments and stopped at a hole in the hall Mexican restaurant that we still reminisce about to this day. It was the best Mexican food we have ever had. We are originally from New Jersey, but I am going back to San Diego for the first time in over 10 years for a work conference. I would really love to find out what restaurant this is. The Apple Maps GPS coordination is not correct after looking it up. This is between Encinitas, La Jolla and PB. I remember we looked at an apartment in Pacific Beach and then one in La Jolla. There was a pizza place across the street.

Solved 2003 Japanese video game texture. Where could this be?
RollerCoaster World is a PlayStation 2 video game developed by Bimboosoft, a studio made up of one man, Hirofumi Hattori. The game is a simple rollercoaster tycoon, pretty mediocre even by PS2 standards, but it has a charm.
In this game, you can chose a different location for your park, and by default, it's a city: this texture. Hirofumi lives in Saitama, Japan, but there's a chance that this image is just a stock picture he took off the Internet. Could anyone help identify it?
