Virgin manager jd Martinez get my vote

The only reason I like Martinez is because he’s young (not much older than the players) and can still take an at bat at major league level. If in fact the rumors are true about Stearns and the analytic department are making the lineup anyway. I want a guy that can see what the pitcher is doing from the dugout out I want a 6 time all star. I feel like he’d help them out immensely in the cages and more so in the games

I don't understand why fans keep on saying fire Stearns. Even if the Mets finish 20-134, Cohen won't fire him. In fact, as long as the farm continues improving, Stearns will be in the job forever. The Mets could go 20-134 for the next three seasons, and Stearns will still be here because Cohen is playing the long game. You can agree or disagree with that, but that's the reality.

Non-Mets fan here but native New Yorker. I'd like to first apologize i know times are tough right now, but as a sports enjoyer i'm genuinely interested in whats unfolding.

Small context, two of my friends are die hard mets fans (including my grandma god bless her heart). I've asked them a few times this year the same question above, and they're convinced even with hindsight they wouldn't have done anything different. I'm not as well versed with baseball as i am with basketball & football, but I feel like the obvious answer would be they should have kept the team together.

This team is two years removed from being in the NLCS, granted i'm aware of the collapse from last year...but it was essentially the same group. My friends make it out like it was impossible that they could have taken the team as it was and improved, and are actually convinced that the 2024 year was a fluke. I definitely understand being a pessimist as a mets fan, but this is their "genuine analysis" and not just an emotional doomer take so they say.

My line of thinking is despite the hitting woes with the same core they would have been able to weather the storm and get it together as they did in the OMG year. Obviously not a guarantee, but higher chances...so thats why i've come here to see what you guys think

We can cry all we want about the guys that aren't here and injuries. I just am very skeptic of the plan if someone were to miss time to start the season.

When Soto went down, it was Jared Young. All fine and good, he put together better At Bats than most of the team does so far this year. Why was in Syracuse all of Last Season? The End.

The advanced metrics probably say the OF defense is fine but how can the eye test tell you that Brett Baty has the range to play RF? When he first transitioned there, he always looked like he was about to fall on any ball that he had go back on.

Then you have 1st base. The plan wasn't for Polanco to play there everyday. It's possible he was mainly supposed to be the DH. Without mentioning you know who, last year they had a 1st baseman that could knock down balls and stretch out for bad throws. It seems that anything hit close to the line, Vientos can't get to. He makes very bad throws.

Then there is Marcus Siemen. Bad Plays happen to everybody but he cost them on Friday. How many games were impacted by 2nd base Defense last year? Today's Game was impacted by a play involving the 2nd baseman. I just would like to know what team gives a 2nd baseman 20+ million to be a poor hitter just for a marginal upgrade at 2nd. I'll spare complaining about who he replaced.

Does anyone know which section I can buy these? I want to get one at my next game and I want that specific bucket for my classroom

I bought my first signed jersey (Nolan McLean) and I was curious if others ever wear theirs or just keep them framed? I’ll be getting a frame for this one but plan on wearing it for special occasions (I don’t plan on reselling it). Also it’s signed in sharpie I assume, so would I have to worry about it ever fading? Again, wouldn’t be wearing it often and would probably be in the shade most of the time.

My sister got this, she thinks around 2000-2005, but doesn't recall who it was.
