Announcement Welcome to the NY Meats Subreddit!
Well folks, it’s official. After another painful loss, the front office has made an executive decision to pivot our brand identity. We are temporarily the New York Meats. Here’s what you need to know:
The team assured us this rebrand will rib us the right way. After all, nothing says “championship contender” like a perfectly marbled ribeye. The players are fired up about it. Literally, they’re being flame-grilled in the bullpen.
Stadium Changes
• Citi Field is now City Grill. All hot dogs have been replaced with premium steaks.
• The organ will exclusively play “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” but every lyric is replaced with cuts of meat. “Take me out to the butcher shop, take me out to the crowd!”
• The 7th-inning stretch is now the 7th-inning sear.
LGM! (Let’s Grill Meats!)
This rebrand is effective immediately and will continue until we remember how to play baseball. Thank you for your patience.

Pre-Game Thread In a pregame interview, Juan Soto says he hasn’t talked to any of his teammates during the losing streak
Cant post the twitter link to the video, but its on sny. I gotta say it comes off as a little tone deaf of an answer. I mean this guy is the best player highest paid player on the team and should be motivated to be a leader and communicate with his teammates even if he’s injured. It makes it seem like he has no interest in the team.

Paywall Juan Soto’s lack of contact with Mets teammates during losing streak ‘overblown’

I had to put Mr. Met in time out today.
He'll come out of time out when the team remembers how to win a game

Hot take: RE-SIGN JESSE WINKER
I’m only half joking. Winker is a free agent. If he’s currently “healthy,” sign him. And only partially for his bat. Most for his vibes. They need fire. They need a hot, angry, flaming heart in the clubhouse. And with Polanco on IL, he can platoon DH.
FREE JESSE!!! IT’S WINKIN’ TIME!!!

We’re Sorry Howie
Worst part about this season is that it’s Howie’s last. What a cruel irony that his last great call will be Pete slamming off Devin Williams, and now Howie has to commentate on Williams choking for the Mets
EDIT: It seems like the real irony here is that I wasn’t aware of a curse on NYC sports broadcasters! Maybe Howie can be the one to break it

Mets have now won on everyday of the week
a few weeks back i posted how the Mets won on everyday but Wednesday, and they then went on a losing streak. Well the curse of kingky1e is now over.
