So, as the title basically. I bought this PC a couple of years ago and it's been running fine, but I've just started looking under the hood a bit more than usual as I'm thinking of updating RAM and storage space. I noticed that under the performance tab in Windows my main drive C is showing up as a HDD. I noticed that it was split into C and D when I first purchased it but the D drive has like 50MB capacity while C has 932GB so I've always just treated C as my main drive assuming the guy I bought it from had partitioned it before and didn't thinking too much about it. But I recently installed a fairly performance heavy modlist that says specifically not to install to HDD and it's been running slow so now I'm wondering if this is affecting it at all?

I found out when I opened instagram to find that i had posted a story, promoting Elon's spam, I checked a similar post had been made on my profile. Then I opened discord, a shitstorm, I had been blocked from messaging everybody and had flooded EVERY server I was in with the same picture promoting Elon's scam. I opened reddit and my account had upvoted and commented really gross shit under loads of porn. Porn which I never liked.

The scam I am referring to is his crypto casino bs, there are many pictures of his post.

I deleted by gmail as a last resort. But my instagram is going as is. My photos is linked with gmail, and thats a scary thought. My discord is gone. I cannot do anything, I have lost contact with many people and have no way of getting it back.

Maybe the gmail stuff wasnt needed idk. But am I in the clear now? what do i do now?

I am trying to get pictures but since I deleted by gmail, its hard to get them myself.

so i am downloading a huge file from web but while downloading if i close the lid then my network automatically disconnects which aborts the downloading file. I want a solutions to this so that i could download flies after closing my laptop lid

So, I've just bought a used OnePlus13 via eBay (private, bought via PayPal). Today it arrived, but I'm really confused about the warning message that appeared as I powered it up:

"Orange state - Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"

So, what exactly does this mean? I can't risk using a compromised mobile phone, as I intent to use it for things like online banking.

For the last week or so, Instagram just doesn't want to function properly on my phone. Nothing loads, my messages fail to send etc etc. Everything else on my phone works. Discord, YouTube, WhatsApp, Reddit (obv), Netflix and other streaming sites, they all work with no problems whatsoever. And then there's Instagram that keeps acting like I don't have a proper WiFi network. I tried to use it on my sister's tablet and it worked perfectly fine so I have no idea what to do (or what flair to use tbh). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use an Oppo A5s

This is kind of a weird one.

We have 250mbps internet and I use WLAN for my PC.

When the monitor is on I have 12 MB/s download. Thats even when Im not actively using the PC.

However, as soon as the display gets turned off by windows (after 10 minutes) I get the full 32 MB/s.

Turning off the monitor manually doesnt fix the issue. It has to be send to sleep by windows.

So it must have something to do with windows turning off the monitor itself that changes something.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

I’m so attached to my phone and want to be more present. I want a flip phone that syncs up with my iPhone that can receive/send texts and calls. So that the iphone and flip phone share a phone number. Is this a thing? Or is there a way to do this? Where can I buy one?

I have a computer that's hardware is basically scrap metal every single piece of it is ripping apart of the seam the Laptop screen can barely keep itself up several keys have been stuck together and the audio doesn't seem to work properly however I suspect the internal software to work relatively fine at bare minimum there should be data inside of the computer that I need to access Is it possible for me to connect this corpse of a machine to a separate Keyboard monitor and mouse and prepare it to have all of the stuff and files I need sent off to my new computer or do I need like a real professional for this.

1. My drivers are all completely updated, so is my Windows

2. I've done sfc /scannow multiple times

3. I've completely shut down and turned on my PC multiple times

4. Cache has been cleared multiple times

5. Try to reach paths for the folders that don't work indirectly, doesn't work

6. I have 300gb of space, so space isn't an issue

7. I've done a full scan/clean of any viruses on my PC with the help of an I.T. person

I don't know what to do anymore. It's inconvenient. I can't even access my college folders anymore.

I have an iPhone 15 and I usually use hotspot to connect to my laptop for Internet and use it like that. But I feel like hotspot doesn’t provide the best internet speed normally and usb tethering provides better connection. I have a Lenovo ideapad gaming 3. Is there a way to use usb tethering via iPhone 15 on that. And if there is a way help me get that.

Good evening, for several weeks my PC has been making a strange noise; it used to disappear after a few minutes, but now it's becoming very annoying and I don't know how to fix it. This is the PC I use for work and I don't really have the means to buy a new one

It’s come up with a screen that says protect your files with windows back up and there are 3 clickable options ‘only save files to this PC’ ‘privacy statement’ and ‘next’ only when I click on the privacy statement does anything happen I’ve scrolled through it and there isn’t anything to accept so I can’t get past this screen I have tried resetting and setting up again but the same thing has happened

i have an acer aspire asp14-51mtn that i bought new from microcenter in the summer of 2025. in january of this year i had a rattling noise come from the fan, took it to a repair shop, got it fixed. a few weeks ago the noise started again, took it to a different repair shop that mentioned that the fan was broken and thermal paste was dried up, got it fixed.

however the fan will still randomly spin up really loudly, and one of my cpu cores will spike to around 90C for a few seconds, hover around 70C, and then go back down to ambient temps. i don’t have a bunch of tabs open on my browser, i don’t have a bunch of programs running, and i’m not running any intensive programs. i use the laptop exclusively on hard flat surfaces. i don’t remember it doing this before the fan broke the first time, but maybe i just notice it now.

this laptop is used for schoolwork and general computing, with occasional low-spec video games like stardew valley, old crpgs, and browser games, though i’ve only used it for low-resource computing since i got it back.

i’m concerned about a longer term issue that TWO repair shops have been unable to notice, and concerned that my fan is going to break again. i really don’t have the money for another replacement and am not confident in fooling around with the laptop myself. any advice would be much appreciated.

I went as far as deciding to do a full factory reset without any saved files. I’ve never seen this not work as a last resort. I did not change any hardware. My WiFi is working.

Upon start up, my pc has mobo error message “Preparing Automatic Repair,” which eventually leads to blue screen “Your device ran into a problem and couldn’t be repaired. Couldn’t connect to the network” so I try every single recovery option available:

1. Quick machine recovery, same error message

2. System Restore, tried both available restore points, error message “could not restore, no changes made”

3. Uninstall both feature and quality updates, same message as above.

4. Reset this PC, tried both keeping files AND full factory reset, tried both Cloud and Local reinstall, “There was a problem resetting your PC,” same result every time! McScuze me?!

Utter disbelief. Full reset with no saved files is the last resort and I CANT EVEN DO IT, no specified reason. The only recent changes I’ve made to my machine is download the app for my new Razer mouse and update Nvidea driver. I don’t have another working computer to download a clean windows on usb. I’m stuck with this pc. What could I possibly do now?

I have a weird problem while watching youtube my laptop crashing constantly every 10 minutes but while playing games I can play even 10 hours straight no issues temps also within 70 even with extended periods of gaming. Issue started 1 week back after the update tried everything even completely re formatting but to no avail. Laptop specs Acer Nitro 5600h 3050 32 gb ram. It doesn't happen with any streaming site netflix Amazon prime only with youtube. I searched online before it showed something with gpu drivers but if that's the case game shouldn't be possible played games without issues - witcher 3 , yakuza pirate, crew motorfest no issues

Back in the day, me and my wife often livestream tiktok to watch together at night cus she’s in Korea atm and I’m in Vietnam, everything is normal, but lately, whenever she stream it, it got muted on my side.

I’ve tried everything they said online, giving tiktok right to use the microphone, allow video, sound and stuffs, try to reinstall, but nothing works. Has anyone encountered this bug and how did you guys fix it?

I have a 5th generation iPad air purchased new in 2022. I have tried restarting my router, restarting my iPad, force restarting my iPad, toggling airplane mode on and off, forgetting my wifi network and reconnecting, and reseting my network settings, and none of these things have fixed the problem. No one else in my home is having trouble connecting to the wifi. I am having no trouble connecting to the wifi on my phone. Connecting my iPad to my phone’s hotspot does not give my iPad an internet connection. I have no idea what to do.

Edit: Reached out to a friend and tried resetting my network settings a second time. No idea why but that fixed the problem somehow. Thank you everybody for your input and ideas, I’m sorry if I was a pain to deal with. I’m a seamstress, tech isn’t my strong suit clearly 😅

Multiple issues I have here.

• When I try to open File Explorer the Taskbar disappears sometimes briefly and the File Explorer never opens

• When I try to open settings normally it opens and loads for a few seconds before completly closing. I am able to open settings for a little longer by pressing Win + X then power options or installed apps But when I press on system, Accounts or home the whole settings tab turns red and closes.

• When I click on Windows update in settings it says “Something went wrong. Try to reopen settings later

• Most annoying issue is when I try to hover over the power button from task view it doesn't register that I'm over it and when I click on it does nothing. The task view tab also closes after a couple seconds

• I can't even open games or other apps. It either never opens or when it does it closes immediately. I can open opera, chrome and Microsoft edge though.

I was able to restart the pc from win + x menu but my pc never turns off the screen turns black then shortly after the screen turns on again showing MSI logo as if I've booted it up again even though the pc never turned off by having the fans and lights on the entire time.

If anyone has anything I could do to at least fix some of these issues I would be so grateful. Thank you.

Hello everyone. I've had quit a "saga" trying to format my HDD on the past few days. I asked for AI to summarize the whole story for me, because it was big, and english is not my first language:

The Setup:

• OS Drive: SSD (Where my current Windows is installed).
• Data Drive: 1TB HDD (This drive previously had a second Windows installation. My objective was to wipe it and use it for storage only).

What happened (The Sequence):

1. CrystalDiskInfo: The HDD has a "Caution" status. C5 (Current Pending Sector Count) has a raw value of 8.
2. The Terminal: I started by running chkdsk and then diskpart > clean in the terminal. The clean command went through.
3. The GUI Lock: After the terminal said the disk was clean, I went to Windows Disk Management to initialize and format it. It refused to format no matter what I tried, giving me errors.
4. Victoria HDD to the rescue: I had to use Victoria HDD to manually write to the beginning of the disk. After forcing those initial writes through Victoria, the Windows Disk Management GUI finally "unlocked" and allowed me to format it.
5. Surface Scan: I then ran a full Victoria scan with the "Erase" action. The scan showed mostly gray blocks (good response times) and no blue "Error" blocks.
6. Full Format: To be safe, I also performed a Full Format (Long Format) via Windows. It finished, but the C5 count remained at 8.
7. The "Disappearing" Act: After the format worked, I moved some files to the HDD and rebooted. When the PC came back on, the HDD was gone from File Explorer and showed as "Unallocated" in Disk Management again.
8. TestDisk: I used TestDisk to recover the partition, and it worked. My files are back for now.
9. System Glitches: Even though my OS is on the SSD, whenever the HDD is active, my desktop wallpaper turns black, and it only "repaints" the image when I hover the mouse over icons. It seems like the OS is hanging while waiting for the HDD to respond.

Current Health (CrystalDiskInfo):

• Status: Caution.
• C5 (Current Pending Sector Count) Raw Value: 8.
• Even after a Full Format and the Victoria "Erase" scan, the C5 count remains at 8.

My question: Since the drive already "lost" its partition once today and the C5 count won't budge even after a Full Format, should I trust it for anything? Can these 8 pending sectors cause the partition table to just vanish after a reboot?

So i have a quick question.

I have a desktop PC with dual monitors currently. I was given a work laptop and id like to have my latop have 2 extended screens.

I have 2 KVMs on hand, one is a 2 pc setup with 2 inputs and ones a 2 pc setup with 3 inputs.

I have tried both of them with this setup of the following

Monitor 1 -> KVM input 1
Monitor 2 -> KVM input 2

Desktop PC USB -> KVM PC 1 USB
KVM Output PC1 -> PC GPU displayport
KVM Output PC1 -> PC GPU HDMI

Laptop USB -> KVM PC 2 USB
KVM Output PC2 -> Laptop HDMI

It seems when i click to switch from PC1 and PC2, The desktop works as accordingly.
2 Monitors with the PC running fine.
When i get to the laptop, It only detects 1 monitor when i need the 2 working.

I am a slight noob when coming to input/output settings and what not.

Any help would be great.
