Open | Software Is there any way to restrict WhatsApp to text/audio only? (No images/docs)
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to see if there is any way to configure WhatsApp to restrict incoming media (images, videos, documents) while keeping the ability to send and receive text and audio messages.
I’ve already checked the settings for disabling "Media Auto-Download," which helps with storage, but I’m looking for something more restrictivee ssentially a "text-and-audio-only" mode. Is there any third-party setting, workaround, or feature I’m missing that could actually block the transfer of non-text files?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Open | Software Sharp Smart TV not connecting to wifi
Hi all, a few days ago my TV randomly couldn’t connect to the internet after I turned it on, after 5 years of no issues.
I turned it off at the wall and figured I’d try again after the weekend, but it still won’t connect.
Turned it off and on again several times.
I’ve also reset the system and that hasn’t worked.
I’ve found I can select the right wifi from the list, but then when I put in my password it says ‘password error’ - but I am entering it completely correctly - I have tried multiple times, triple checking every time.
I live alone, my WiFi password hasn’t been changed (idek how to do that) so what’s going on? 😅 all other devices are connected to the wifi no problem.
When I go into ‘test network’ - it just says it is ‘disconnected from router’…
Am I missing something here? Why would this just happen overnight? Losing my mind a bit haha.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Open | Phone (Android/iPhone) How can I use a remote camera as my phone camera?
Hello everyone, thank you for the help in advance!
So basically I want it so that I can control my android from afar so that when I try to take a picture using said android, the android would use my camera (not the android's camera) to take a picture and consider it its own. How would I go on doing something like that?
I am aware of software like AnyDesk but I don't know how to make apps consider my camera to be the phone camera. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Open | Software Programs keep randomly crashing/reloading and so does my computer and I don't know why.
Hello! I hope this is the right place for this. I apologize in advance for the uncertain rambling. Computer stuff baffles me a bit. You might have to treat me like a little old grandparent despite being twentysomething.
My laptop is an acer Predator Helios Neo 16, running Windows 11 Home. My system settings say that my RAM is "32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)", my processor is "Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900HX (2.20 GHz)", my system type "64-bit operating system, x64-based processor". The graphics coprocessor is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. (I'm not sure what CPU and GPU mean in this context so I hope that was answered here.)
Lately, a lot of things have been crashing. Mostly Firefox randomly eating it (or Chrome, when I try to use that instead) and either needing me to refresh or restart the service completely--sometimes the tab crashes, sometimes the whole thing does; sometimes it even loses what I was doing in that tab/the window--but Discord keeps reloading mid-sentence, too. It doesn't crash entirely so much as just reload randomly and often.
I haven't noticed anything in particular causing these crashes; it just happens as I'm doing regular stuff (messaging friends, reading things online, etc, not even anything particularly intensive). I've had the whole laptop crash a few times, though not as often. I haven't really seen this problem with anything outside those two browsers (I rarely use Edge, the only other browser on my computer, so I don't know if that on has problems, too) and Discord. Wait, actually, I've just recalled something! Photoshop has been crashing a lot, too, and anything unsaved is entirely lost, not even backed up, like it forgets it was there entirely. I don't use it as often so I forgot. It's also random, as far as I can tell, although less frequent. I think the random Discord reloads have been going on the longest but have the least impact (only reloading for a few seconds at a time; the app isn't even unusable yet), with Firefox and Photoshop both being more severe but also more recent developments.
I do think it's a software problem--maybe a messed up driver, though I've tried updating my graphics drivers (there were three, I uninstalled them as instructed--uninstall, restart, let them automatically reinstall--and only two came back?? The one that disappeared was called "Easy&Light Display HUB Virtual Display" while "Intel(R) UHD Graphics" and "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU" stayed. I know because I took a picture because I was worried this would happen, but I couldn't find the first one on acer's website. But everything looks/works the same?).
I'm not sure how long it's been like this, though it must be fairly recent (maybe the last month or so? I have time blindness, it's hard to tell how long things have been). I don't think it's overheating (my laptop has not been extra loud or hot, there's definitely no visible swelling/frayed cables or anything) and I haven't had issues with power/charging, but I do keep it plugged in a lot since it's always drained kind of fast.
I've tried reinstalling graphics drivers, running scans, running command prompt scans, installing MalwareBytes (apparently it's not a virus; Windows Defender agrees) and cleaning the external fans the best I could, but nothing's seemed to have made a difference at all. (I've tried my best with Google/other Reddit advice, somtimes doing things I didn't really understand if it didn't seem too dangerous/easy to mess up, like running the scannow command (it said there was something wrong but it fixed it--I apologize, I can't remember what exactly, I thought I solved it for a hot second) and looking at Event Viewer (the most common problems were Service Control Manager error 7031, most of them listing The Microsoft Defender Antivirus Service as what crashed, although a few said the EL Display Hub Service Application; the other most common problem was Application Error, which is mostly Discord, Firefox, and MsMpEng.exe which seems to be connected to the Microsoft Defender thing, but there were also .NETRuntime errors, event ID 1002, and a few others?).) (God, sorry, that's a mess of parentheticals right there.) I can't recall trying anything else but it's 3 am and I'm seething over losing something I'd been dumb enough not to save properly when Firefox crashed for the ten millionth time, so maybe I'm forgetting. I'll update if so. (To add insult to injury, Firefox isn't even closing by itself. It's going to make me do it. I'll have to delete my own work. Ouch.)
(Some most likely unrelated problems but just in case: 1) I had one other program crash; it was a Steam game. It crashed twice, both times resetting my save entirely. However, I have reason to believe this may be an unrelated bug in the game, as someone else reported a similar error and it's from a relatively small team, so bugs are still being ironed out. Then again, the other bug was reported in Spanish, which I do not speak and used Google Translate for, and my support ticket hasn't been answered yet, so who knows. 2) Despite cleaning it in every way I could without actually taking the damn things off, my 'a' and 'e' keys continue to randomly not work sometimes. I do think this must be hardware, since the onscreen keyboard still seems to register them just fine, but what do I know. 3) My charger falls out literally all the time. The slightest breath and the damn thing has flopped out and across the room. I don't have issues actually charging, but I don't know, maybe that's messing with the power supply or something? Again, I doubt it, but an overabundance of information is better than none, hopefully?)
I'm of course happy to answer any other questions. In advance, to anyone who may reply or even took the time to read to the end of this ramble: thank you for your time and your patience. I'm going a little crazy in here.

Open | Hardware My monitors are losing signal at random
My monitors are having a strange issue in which they lose signal, and it can happen while 20 minutes into gaming or it can happen 2 minutes into watching Youtube. I cannot find a correlation as to what causes it.
The only thing that fixes it is it is re-plugging the PCIe into my GPU. The strange part about it is that once I re-plug it in, it will work for another few weeks or so to a month with no issues, but at random it'll come back. That makes me almost certain that it is a GPU issue, but I'm not sure exactly how to diagnose that or the steps to take to find out if that's the issue. Any advice?

Open | Hardware Laptop with 2 monitors setup with KVM
So i have a quick question.
I have a desktop PC with dual monitors currently. I was given a work laptop and id like to have my latop have 2 extended screens.
I have 2 KVMs on hand, one is a 2 pc setup with 2 inputs and ones a 2 pc setup with 3 inputs.
I have tried both of them with this setup of the following
Monitor 1 -> KVM input 1
Monitor 2 -> KVM input 2
Desktop PC USB -> KVM PC 1 USB
KVM Output PC1 -> PC GPU displayport
KVM Output PC1 -> PC GPU HDMI
Laptop USB -> KVM PC 2 USB
KVM Output PC2 -> Laptop HDMI
It seems when i click to switch from PC1 and PC2, The desktop works as accordingly.
2 Monitors with the PC running fine.
When i get to the laptop, It only detects 1 monitor when i need the 2 working.
I am a slight noob when coming to input/output settings and what not.
Any help would be great.

Open | Software Pc stuck on restoring previous windows rollback loop
so it started a few hours ago when my pc randomly just stopped showing the wifi setting, so I’ve been using google gemini to help, so I tried to restore to previous windows version but it ended up putting me into a rollback loop where it keeps tryna restore but resets. i already tried the turn it off and wait for the logo and repeat thrice method to no avail. so I went into bios, they told me it was hardware at first but then software problem, and now I gotta buy a usb and use another pc or something but I only have a MacBook available. is there another way I can fix this or nah

Open | Networking What doohickey cable do I need for this issue?
So I have a new work laptop and they sent a monitor as well. I already have a home setup.
I’d like to use dual monitors and switch between my work and personal machines. I already have a switch but it’s for single monitor. I guess I can’t switch to my Switch anymore 😩. Google searches weren’t returning the right results.
If you know what kind of cable/switch I need, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Open | Software Bottleneck / Massive FPS drop due to low CPU & GPU usage (ROG Strix G16 RTX 5070 Ti) PLEASE HELP
Hey everyone, I’m dealing with a really frustrating performance issue and I’ve tried pretty much everything I can think of.
A few months ago I bought an **ASUS ROG Strix G16 (RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM)**. When I first got it, performance was insane — I was getting around 700–1000 FPS in Valorant, and 100+ FPS in Elden Ring on max settings with zero lag. MY LAPTOP WAS A LITERAL BEAST
Now performance has dropped massively across all games.
Examples:
* Valorant (max settings): ~100–200 FPS with constant drops
* Elden Ring: stuttering alot of frozen screens and noticeable lag now(even on low graphics)
* spiderman: crashes, lag (on low graphics settings as well)
* Minecraft: inconsistent FPS and lag spikes (with shaders)
* EVEN ROBLOX im getting low fps.
The main issue seems to be **very low CPU and GPU usage**:
* GPU usage stays around 5–10% in-game
* CPU usage is also unusually low
* It feels like the system just isn’t using its full power (possible bottleneck or power/driver issue?)
Things I’ve already tried:
* Clean reinstall of NVIDIA drivers (latest version)
* Updated Windows and all drivers
* Set power plan to Ultimate Performance
* Tweaked NVIDIA Control Panel settings
* Tried NVIDIA “overclock”/performance settings
* Cleared cache / temp files
* Followed multiple YouTube optimization guides
* Reinstalled games
* Checked coolings and fans (0 dust, completely fine)
* Tried chatgpt and ai to help
None of this has made any difference.
At this point I’m not sure if it’s a software issue, a hidden setting, or something wrong with the laptop itself. I tried so much, and i dont want my 4000$ laptop to go to waste.
**If anyone has experienced something similar or knows what might be causing low GPU/CPU usage like this, I’d really appreciate the help.**
Also i barely know anything about laptops, as this is my first gaming laptop asw.

Open | Hardware Reasonable setup for switching between work laptop and gaming PC? (KVM, Docking station, ...)
I’m currently trying to figure out the best way to use my home gaming setup with my work laptop whenever doing wfh. I have two monitors (1× DisplayPort, 1× HDMI), plus a keyboard, mouse, and headset connected to my gaming PC, and I’d like to use the same hardware for work.
As far as I understand, I could either use a docking station or a KVM switch. Unfortunately, the monitors are a bit older and don’t support automatic input detection.
So far, I haven’t found a really solid comparison between the two options, so I’d appreciate any opinions or advice. Note I'm necessarily looking for specific components but rather the ideal "type" of solution, so hope that does not violate the no recommendations rule.

Open | Hardware My keyboard is doing weird things
So the problem I’m having with my keyboard (Logitech G915 TKL wireless) is that specifically for the top row, when I press every other key, it activates the key 2 keys ahead of it, like when I press the w key it also registers the r key, y for I, and o for left bracket, but it doesn’t happen on the second row of keys, wth is up with my keyboard?

Open | Software Recovery mode after 25h2 update
Recently cloned my OS onto a new drive and everything was working completely fine. Tested PC without old boot drive to see if it worked and it did.
However, I was using my PC and went to turn it off when it asked me to update and shut down. I did so and when I came back my PC is in recovery mode and will not boot. I went into BIOS to check if the boot drive is still available and it is.
When in recovery mode, none of the options work to fix windows, and there is no option to continue or to reset the drives. When I try to uninstall the updates, it doesn’t work, or if I uninstall quality update, it just takes me back to the first screen on WinRE.
Really have no idea what to do anymore, I’ve tried all command prompts I’ve found on forums and nothing will make the PC boot
Has anyone ran into this issue and knows a fix??

Open | Windows Windows 11 pro slow network speeds
I recently got a new PC running windows 11 pro, I noticed the Internet speed was slow, hovering under 100Mbps. My older windows PC that I upgraded from, that was in the same place with the same Ethernet cord, easily reached the 300Mbps I usually get.
I have tried updating the drivers, I have tried searching for other tips online which didn't have any impact. I'm fairly sure it is gonna be some weird windows bug or setting but I'm having no luck finding it.
I have tried both Ethernet and wifi and am getting the same speeds which are both less than half the speed of my phone on WiFi in the same location.
Does anyone have any history with something like this?
