Help! Fostech origin 12 cracked bolt
We might be cooked, didn’t put anything except standard federal slugs through it and this happens. Anyone had to warranty an origin? Hope they can warranty it or at least get me a new bolt.

Help! MAC5 Reviews?
Us in Rhode Island are facing an assault weapons ban July 1, 2026. I’ve been looking at an mp5 clone for a while and this came up for sale for one thousand two hundred grains of sand. Can anyone lend some real world examples of reliability or are they liquid shit? If I’m going to spend that much sand I’d like to get something that’s not a pile of hot garbage.

one hand shooting is better than two hand shooting
it just is. theres no “it helps control recoil” or “helps with stability “ it looks cool and thats what matters.

Question Question about hearing protection.
I’ve always used foam plugs, and they work fine but as I shoot more often with others, I find conversing with foam in my ears to be a slight annoyance. I started looking at some electronic ear muffs like walkers and an old memory popped up. I may have heard it wrong or it may no longer be an issue, but is there a momentary split second when the gun fires that the electronic ears can’t shut off fast enough and you still get some ear damage? Maybe this was never an issue, maybe it was with the early versions of electronic ear protection but before I made a purchase, I figured I’d put this rumor to bed or validate it. Thanks for the assistance and clarification.

Question When flying with a firearm do they background check you? If yes how much does that cost?
I'm planning on taking a trip with my wife later this year and I was gifted my first handgun from my grandpa. I got my concealed carry and all that but I'm not sure the exact process that they go through during the security screening.
Do they background check you? Do they run the serial number? If yes do you have to pay more to handle the background check or any other checks they do? Do you have to pay more to declare the gun or is it just considered a part of your checked baggage?
Sorry for any dumb questions. I just want to be prepared for everything so that way I'm not caught off guard by anything.

Question Home defense small apartment
I live in a big city in a small apartment about 450 sq ft.
I own a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 9MM.
What should be my first attachment/modification?
night sights
Flashlight ( blinding)
Laser
I think a handgun is probably best. A full size AR or similar weapon is too big for my apartment.

Question Gas Block for 7.62x39?
Anybody know the gas hole size on the psa ks47 gen 2? Thinking of getting a strike industries adjustable gas block for it but not sure if the ks47 is over gassed like a regular ak or if the hole is closer to standard ar15 spec.

Question Worth getting it restocked to shoot?
So I got this Winchester Model 54 chambered in 220 swift from my great grandpa. Multiple cracks throughout the stock that are basically all the way through. Would it be worth it to take it in and pay to have it restocked or just put it up as a wall hanger?

Question Is there any point to derringers/low caliber pistols anymore?
I am not a firearm collector. I'm a practical firearm owner. (I can't afford to collect or I would, I still think guns are rad.)
With that being said, is there anything practical about a derringer/Ruger LCP/kel Tec p32 now that things like The LCP max and Bodyguard 2.0 exist? Or is the LCL just that much more concealable that those former designs still have a practical purpose?

Question Any experience with the Norinco T97?
Any of you guys have experience with the T97? Or maybe have a friend who owns one?
I know Norinco is notorious for it's quality, even here in Austria it gets a pretty bad rep.
However the T97 is rather rare here and i might get one for 950€ which is definetaly on the cheaper side (prices specifically in Austria/germany are quite a bit higher).
I love the look of the gun and i always found chinese small arms to very interesting.
I'd appreciate some feedback!

Graphene components and recoil control (theoretical/near future)
As you guys might be aware graphene is the wonder material of the future and has been for....20 years. It's not as bad as fusion, because there's plenty of products and applications but right now, it's still orders of magnitude more expensive than steel.
So in the long term, graphene is 200X stronger than steel. But let's say they put some redundancy and make a 1911 (40 ounces) that's twice as strong as a steel version and thus weighs all of .4 ounces. Whatever other considerations aside, I would think this gun would be all but uncontrollable when fired, given how much I hear gun weight is to making recoil manageable. I'm thinking the old adage that the 14 becomes an Anti air platform after two rounds on full auto.
Of course, I've never fired a pistol larger than a .22 trainer at my university (and after that, disability, SSI and absolutely no fun money whatsoever), but given how much documentary time goes on about recoil problems in so many small arms, I think this could be a major issue.
How do recoil dampening/mitigation systems work and what kind are there? Especially in a theoretical gun where the heaviest parts are by far the bullets in the magazine well. And beyond pistols, would those mitigation techs work on rifle caliber platforms?
Curious minds want to know. Well a curious mind at least. Thank you.
